Celebrity Apprentice 3

by David McAlpine

Last week on The Celebrity Apprentice, it was a showdown of the celebrities who showed up. Several of the show's stars (aka the only ones who people actually recognize) were gone, leaving the rest to fight it out in a test of who could make the best deodorant advertisement. In the end, Rocksolid won but still lost a member in Michael Johnson, who had personal issues. Meanwhile, the women fought it out in the boardroom and Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks was the next celebrity fired.

Last night, Cyndi and Holly's hatred for each other reached a new high after the boardroom get real heated real quick. With Sharon still out of the equation thanks to her illness, there's less women to stand between them, too. But Trump doesn't offer them too much time to cool down, either, as he presents them with their next task via Trace Adkins, season 1's runner-up. This week, they have to take a fledging country star and make a stellar press kit for them.

Cyndi, being the actual singer of the group (sorry, Holly) steps up for Tenacity, while Bill Goldberg takes the reins for Rocksolid. Wait, what? The professional wrestler on the women's team didn't try to do that, and Rocksolid has a singer (Bret Michaels). But Bret assures he'll help as much as he can…and Bill takes the position anyway, despite Trump asking about it, too.

Cyndi starts out being very nasty and arguments start to fly. Granted, she's treating her team like crap, but she knows what needs to get done.

Cut to the teams meeting the girls, with the women arguing all the way up until they enter the room. Emily West wants the women because she doesn't want the guys to pick out her clothes. Cyndi also wants Emily. The women argue more even though they all want Emily, anyway. The guys don't care, because they're confident they'll win, anyway, so they let Tenacity have Emily, while they take the guy, Luke Bryan.

Back to the women, where Maria blames Cyndi for hurting people's feelings and not taking them seriously. Things only go downhill from there when Emily enters the room and Cyndi starts stepping on everyone. At the same time, the women stop trying and it's clear they're trying to get Cyndi out.

The men still have no idea what they're doing while Cyndi is making all the decisions. They finally decide on leather and lace for Emily (so she's hard and soft), but the bickering continues down to even the smallest decisions. Maria and Holly start to shut Cyndi out and complain, while Cyndi just barges ahead. Even Summer has an opinion about Cyndi.

Back on the men's team, Bret and Luke are working together to make his bio. Luke, however, is not happy when Bret tries to put words in his mouth and he's not afraid to voice his concerns. Looks like Bret is a plethora of help on this one.

All of a sudden, Sharon comes back just in time for another huge meltdown. The men's side seems extremely low-key and unprogressive compared to the women's side when Trace makes a visit, but he does make the observation that Cyndi has a lot of experience in this field and that people probably should listen to her.

Everything starts to become very last minute for Rock Solid, but Bret pulls it together at the photo shoot. Emily also looks awesome, proving that Cyndi did a fantastic job with her.

The next test is the interview when a reporter from People Magazine comes by to interview the two singers. After that's over, the teams have everything they need for their press kits. Holly is very critical of the job they did, while Luke is trying to make his wardrobe much more simple.

Onto the show, where both singers do very well. Emily's seems a little more heartfelt and really gets a reaction out of the audience. It looks like just because the women got more airtime doesn't mean that they lost miserably this time.

Before the winner is announced, Maria and Cyndi have it out in front of Trump. Then Bill admits Bret did 95% of their work, even though he was their Project Manager. And Sharon thinks Rock Solid's kit looks better than theirs. These teams are falling apart more and more, aren't they?

Despite their constant fighting, Tenacity takes home the win and Cyndi gets money for her charity, the True Colors Foundation, as well as some of the proceeds from Emily and Luke's album sales on iTunes.

The men head into the boardroom and Bill is very blunt about his decision to be Project Manager: he wanted to step up. Curtis looks to fire Bret because he did all the work, though Trump says he was given the work, he wasn't in charge. In the end, it comes down to Bill floating along the whole competition, then trying to step up. Trump wasn't having it and fired him.
