Dancing With the Stars 10

This week on Dancing With the Stars: The Results, Len gives a breakdown of last night’s performances and Macy’s Stars of Dance has an amazing performance where ballet and hip hop collide.

The first two couples announced safe for this week were Chad and Cheryl and Jake and Chelsie.

Len gave his breakdown of each couple after last night’s double score showdown.

Erin’s Tango put her under pressure after she had a minor error in her performance.

Evan’s Tango had noticeably better posture but Len is concerned about his footwork.

Niecy’s Rumba was “just a ball on the floor.”

Aiden’s Rumba lacked fluidity and was a tad wooden.

In Nicole’s Rumba, her nerves got the best of her for the first time.

Jake lost his footing a lot in his routine and that messed him up a lot.

Kate had the best dance so far for her.

Chad looked like he was right at home dancing Rumba and Len really noticed his confidence.

Pamela was an absolute sensation and had a lot of sophistication in her dance.

The judges chose to see Pamela and Damian’s routine again after their beautiful performance last night. They made their way up the leader board this week.

Sade performed while professionals Chelsie and Damian had a beautiful, storytelling dance.

The leader board was revealed:
1. Evan and Anna: 52
2. Nicole and Derek: 50
3. Pamela and Damian: 47
4. Chad and Cheryl: 44
5. Erin and Maksim: 39
6. Jake and Chelsie: 38
7. Niecy and Louis: 36
8. Aiden and Edyta: 33
9. Kate and Tony: 32

Evan and Anna were also announced safe into next week’s episode, which is no surprise considering they are number one on the leader board.

There was a sneak peak on how the professional dancers grew up dedicating themselves to the ballroom.

Anna started dancing at age six and she had her first competition at age seven. Her mother was her role model.

Damian started dancing at age 10, which he thought was pretty late. He always knew dancing wasn’t the “cool” thing to do at that age so he never liked telling people he danced.

Chelsie hated dancing and her mom would force her to dance. Sometimes it got so bad she would be crying when she had to go on stage.

Maksim used the process of elimination. He knew he couldn’t sing and definitely couldn’t act, but he surely could dance.

Derek trained in London with Corky Ballas, Mark’s dad, and he travelled around the world doing competitions.

In fact, Mark, Derek, and Julianne (Derek’s sister) used to dance together when they were younger and they were known as the “Ballas Brat Pack.”

Brandon Armstrong and Brittany Cherry won the ballroom kid championship for Dancing With the Stars awhile back. They were joined tonight with other future ballroom dancers to perform a group dance.

Nicole and Derek along with Pamela and Damian were also announced safe.

Macy’s Stars of Dance was honored to have a principal ballerina from New York City Ballet, who performed in a routine created by contemporary and hip hop choreographer Travis Wong. The music was by platinum-selling violin duo Tyler Peck and Nuttin’ But Stringz.

Sade performed again while four male dancers performed on stage.

Erin and Maksim and Kate and Tony were added to the pile of safe couples leaving Niecy and Louis and Aiden and Edyta in the bottom two.

Niecy is fun and has a bubbly personality and she is always entertaining.

Aiden has a natural charm and his confidence is growing.

This one was a tough decision for the judges but they chose to send Aiden and Edyta home.
