The Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Fresh Meat 2

by Gina Scarpa

MTV must have decided that they needed some fresh faces on their challenges because they've deemed this season of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge - Fresh Meat 2! The first season of Fresh Meat gave us memorable players such as Evan, Kenny, Evelyn, Casey, Diem, and Eric. We'll see how this new bunch stacks up!

Thirteen new players competed in combines to determine their mental and physical strength. If you didn't catch the "Meet The Meat" episode on MTV.com, you should. Not only will you get to know these strangers a little bit better, but you could see how absolutely physically dominant Noor was in the first challenge. That guy is a beast!

The vets (using that term loosely since some are competing in their first challenge themselves) are given a stat book on the fresh meat and determine the draft order by picking totem poles with a number on it. Here are the teams for the challenge this season: Darrell and Cara Maria, Jenn and Noor, Kenny and Laurel, Danny and Sandy, Wes and Mandi, Ryan and Theresa, CJ and Sydney, Landon and Carley, Paula and Jeff, Sarah and Vinny, Jillian and Pete, and Katelynn and Brandon. Luke is left standing all alone but no worries. He's not headed home. TJ informs him that his mystery partner will be arriving later. I'm not sure why no one picked him - I thought he did well in the combines!

Here's the good stuff: the prize money. Four teams will make it to the end to battle it out for $300,000. That's worth fighting for, wouldn't you say? And fight, they will. We wouldn't expect anything less from these nutjobs.

By the way, Luke's new partner: Evelyn! Yes! She fights the good fight and she is jacked. I expect good things from this new partnership.

They head to their amazing new house to get acquainted with one another. By acquainted, I mean get drunk, break stuff, get naked, and hook up. That's one way to get to know people.

The next morning, Sarah and Katelynn discuss strategy and the Real World: Brooklyn roomies are on completely different pages. Sarah will continue to follow Kenny around like a puppy dog, as she did in the last challenge, while Katelynn immediately targets him and Wes. An unlikely alliance temporarily forms between mortal enemies Kenny and Wes so that they can save their own butts for the time being.

It's finally time for the first challenge and it involves blindfolds, mudwrestling, and balls. Basically, blindfolded players will have to retrieve a ball in a mud pit while their partner calls out directions to them. Whoever is left without a ball is out - kinda like musical chairs. The final three teams are Katelynn and Brandon (way to represent, Katelynn!), Kenny and Laurel (of course), and Landon and Carley (I don't expect anything less from him). Carley gets the ball first in her round but Laurel finds her and strips her of it, meaning that she and Kenny are the winners!

Kenny and Laurel choose Darrell and Cara Maria to go into Exile and compete to stay in the game. The remaining players vote Jillian and Pete in to face them, thanks to Wes and his amazing ability to manipulate people to do what he wants. Cara Maria doesn't take being voted into Exile well and screams at everyone in the house when they try to have some fun.

Theresa can't seem to decide if she wants Wes or Kenny... she couldn't have been torn between any other two guys in the house?!

At Exile, the teams play Lost and Found, where they must run through the woods, carrying heavy backpacks, and complete puzzles along the way. The first team to finish wins - simple as that.  Basically, Darrell and Pete scream at their partners their entire time, feeling that that's the way that they'll motivated the girls.  Jillian and Pete arrive at the finish line first, sending Darrell and Cara Maria home first this season.  It does suck, considering Darrell left the last challenge because of a stupid fight with Brad but he's won a lot of money on these challenges in the past which, of course, made him a huge target here!
