This week's episode of The Amazing Race continues to heat up in the country of Chile as the 10 remaining teams hectically compete for one million dollars. Jeff and Jordan will take advantage of last week's win as they are given a head start in making their way back to Santiago from Valparaiso. The other nine teams will follow in hot pursuit, all by bus, exactly 12 hours from their previous completion time. One by one, the teams are dispatched and hurrying down the coast of Chile towards their first destination of Puerto Varas.

Two teams decide early on to form an alliance; Carol and Brandy believe that Joe and Heidi have what it takes to succeed and choose to work together this week. As a majority of the teams decide to take the direct trip to Puerto Varas, three teams take advantage of a quicker route that involves a stop in Temuco. The three teams include Jet and Cord, Jeff and Jordan, and Brent and Caite. All three teams are under the impression that this maneuver will keep them ahead of the others. Trailing from the start are Shannon and Jody who end up on the last bus out, but not too far behind the likes of Allie and Steve, Dan and Jordan, and Monique and Shawne.

As it turns out, Jet and Cord are the only ones to capitalize on the short cut. Jeff and Jordan and Brent and Caite had an earlier bus than the cowboys, but it happened to be at a bus station 10 minutes from where the three teams were dropped off. Jet and Cord understand the situation, but decide to keep their mouths shut! For the first time in the race, we see the coy-boy side of the cowboy brothers and it pays off big time.

First to arrive at the Petrohue Hotel are none other than Jet and Cord. Here they are given a standard transmission car to drive towards the first detour. Interestingly enough, only a few teams are thwarted by the stick shift feature. Dan and Jordan struggle not only with the vehicle, but with their sense of direction. Louie and Michael also find themselves lost along the way, but it's still anybody's race as each team keeps their heads up.

Upon reaching their destination by car, the teams will then take a boat to an island surrounded by volcanoes. Once on the island, a decision will be made by the team; will they adorn a llama or will they fly like a condor? First to decide are Jet and Cord. Based on their prior experience with bulls and such, the boys elect to adorn the llama. This includes putting a scarf around the neck of the potentially feisty animal as well as a blanket over its back side. Jet (referred to as the Llama Whisperer by Cord) completes this chore with relative ease and the cowboys continue this week's race way ahead in first place.

Not too far behind are Caite and Brent and Jordan and Jeff. Both couples decide to fly like a condor and chuckle at the fate that awaits them; they will run off a pier in a tandem bird suit in hopes of reaching the buoy that holds the next clue. Both teams flop into the ice-cold water and have to swim for the prize. A few other teams will splash and not fly just the same while the rest of the teams opt to dress a llama.

"Get yourselves to higher ground," is the clue that sends Jet and Cord to Bella Vista where they are the first to find the clue for this week's roadblock. "It's time to make the kuchen," means very little to the cowboys until they find out that kuchen, German for cake, is a popular dessert and the roadblock will have each team gathering the farm-fresh ingredients that comprise the recipe.

Jet and Cord have no problem milking the cow, raiding the chicken coop for the 13 eggs needed nor do they struggle carrying the bag of flour, bowl of sugar and stick of butter back to the kitchen for their final clue. And awkwardness ensues as the other teams make their way from llama territory to Farmville. Rookies such as Michael, Jordan and Monique were "utterly" overwhelmed with the chore of milking a cow, but they all got what they came for!

Coming in first this week were Jet and Cord. Next were Joe and Heidi and Carol and Brandy which proved their idea of teaming-up to be a wise one. Caite and Brent continue to look good at number four while Monique and Shawne pull into fifth place. Jeff and Jordan sweat their way into sixth place as Steve and Allie keep a low profile in seventh. Overcoming a few bumps in the road were Dan and Jordan who sneak into a very close eighth place.

Ninth place Louie and Michael went from completely lost and easily last to enjoying a very special encounter while milking- according to Michael, "I got to know that cow pretty intimately." That intimacy and this roadblock kept Michael and Louie in the race as it gave them a chance to pull ahead of Shannon and Jody who spilled some milk, but never once cried. Coming in last, and ultimately eliminated, was the grandmother and granddaughter team that struggled most of the way, but had a wonderful time in doing so. Their optimism shines brightest, however, as the two wonder what their next adventure together will be. "I'll go anywhere with you," promises an ever-so-thoughtful granddaughter.
