Last time on The Biggest Loser, the Black
Team finally won a weigh-in, meaning Liz and Tracey were both sticking around
another week (cue the angry eyes!). It came down to a tough decision, but, in
the end, Dina was sent home from the Black Team.
Rudy is particularly upset when the Blue
Team gets back from elimination because Dina was his previous partner and I
think he felt a sense of obligation from her to stay in the game. Talk about
anger issues. Liz is also really upset that Dina left, but she realizes that
it’s only going to get harder from here on out, especially if they’re
constantly voting people off.
Before the challenge, Ali congratulates
Rudy for the weight loss track he’s on: he’s only 13 pounds away from losing
100 pounds total and, if he loses it this week, he could get the record for
having lost that weight in the shortest amount of time. Now to the challenge,
where the winner gets to the matchups in this week’s weigh-in, since everyone
is going to have an individual competitor. Each match-up is worth one point;
the team with the most points wins the weigh-in.
Each team has to run back and forth and
do a challenge that’s kind of like limbo, where each player only gets one shot
before they have to return and have someone else from their team go. It’s
shockingly close, but Rebecca pulls it off for the Blue Team, giving them the
right to pick the face-offs. They choose:
Rebecca vs. Amanda
Tracey vs. Abby
Allen vs. Danny
Rudy vs. Shay
Liz vs. Daniel
At this point, the Black Team seems done,
but we’ll see. It seems as if there’s still a slight possibility that they can
pull it off, but at this point I’m pretty sure they’ll be headed to the
elimination room.
With the matchups picked, the workouts
can commence. Bob takes the Blue Team to the pool and works them out there,
while Jillian still has the Black Team sweating it out in the gym. Amanda is
the one this time to have a breakdown, saying she’s so used to being the fat
girl that she isn’t ready for any success—so she runs out of the gym crying.
Randomly, Derek Jeter shows up via
satellite at a 24 Hour Fitness (where else?) and gives a little inspiration to
the Black Team and some props to Daniel, then explains this week’s challenge.
Each person has a life-size cardboard cutout of themselves. They have to go
grab as many balls as they can and try and hit their opponent’s cutout; when
their cutout is hit 316 times (a.k.a. his batting average), they’re out. Abby
still can’t play because of medical reasons, so the Blue Team sits out Tracey.
Allen and Amanda are the first to reach
their quota, making it a tight race between the two teams. Rebecca falls next,
then Daniel, still making it a tie. But, Rudy and Liz are the next two
eliminated, giving the Black Team the win and a 2 pound advantage at this
week’s weigh-in.
Jillian shows her soft spot this week
when she has a heart-to-heart with Abby and tells her that she hopes she finds
love and happiness again (remember her husband and kids died in a car crash).
Jillian also sits down and talks to Amanda, who says she’s giving up on
herself. After the inspiration, everyone is pushed to the max at their
last-chance workout, because it’s clear no one wants to lose their match-up
this week.
After a tense and emotional week, the
weigh-in results are as follows:
Rebecca (Blue): -9 (3.88%)
Amanda (Black): -4 [-6 with 2 lb
advantage] (-1.88%) [-2.75%]
Tracey (Blue): -5 (-2.48%)
Abby (Black): -3 (-1.47%)
Allen (Blue): -8 (-2.96%)
Danny (Black): -12 (-3.36%)
Liz (Blue): -7 (-3.07%)
Daniel (Black): -5 (-1.81%)
Rudy (Blue): -14 (-3.94%)
Shay (Black): -9 (-2.19%)
By 4 points to 1, the Blue team came out
victorious and Rudy broke the new record for losing 100 pounds the fastest on
the show. Even last season’s record breaker, Dane, was on hand to help him
celebrate the milestone.
Because he was the Biggest Loser amongst
the Black Team this week, Danny has immunity. Everyone else, however, is fair
game. No one knows who to vote off, so Abby being the ultimate mother figure,
volunteers to go home, to tearful pleas that she stay. In the elimination room,
the votes go:
Abby: Amanda
Shay: Abby
Amanda: Abby
Danny: Daniel
Daniel: Abby
By a vote of 3-1-1, Abby is the next
contestant eliminated, but she’s completely fine with it. She says that being on
the show gave her new dreams and new things to aspire to. Back at home, she’s
lost another 80 pounds (and looks amazing, I might add), with plans to lose
more by the season finale.
Tune in next week to The Biggest Loser to
see the next shocking weigh-in and to find out who’s headed home—only at 8/7c,
Tuesdays on NBC.
