Tonight, on Hell’s Kitchen, only four chefs remain: Tennille, Ariel, Kevin, and Dave. In the kitchen, they are greeted by a Mini-Me version of Chef Ramsay, who may be small, but has a mouth just as big. That kid is hilarious – I think they should have him on more often! He told Dave that, because of his bum arm, if he was a horse, they would’ve shot him by now. Amazing.
For their challenge, the chefs have to prepare 80 vegetarian meals for 80 hungry guests. There’s just one catch. Those 80 hungry guests happen to be kids, who don’t necessarily like vegetables. Sounds like dinner at my house, minus 79 kids. When the food didn’t come out as quickly as they’d like, they started chanting, “We want food!” Ahhh, kids. The little rugrats ended up choosing the winner, Tennille, after deciding that her vegetable stuffed eggplant was the best of the day. For her prize, she received a makeover in Beverly Hills (oh, excuse me) and lunch with Ramsay at the sushi restaurant, Nobu. The rest got to stay behind clean up the mess in the kitchen.
During dinner service, Dave was THIS close to being taken out of the competition after picking up a hot pan with a fractured wrist. I think the guy could be in a full body cast and he’d still try to cook! After taking a few minutes to collect himself, he returned to the kitchen and got right back to work. While Ariel and Kevin turned in solid performances, Tennille struggled on every dish she tried to turn out. Ramsay screamed at her over and over again. Sometimes her seafood was undercooked and sometimes, it was burnt. No happy medium here.
When it came time for elimination, Dave and Tennille were on the chopping block. Dave made his case to stay and it didn’t matter anyway because Ramsay decided that it was Tennille’s time to hang up her coat and get out of Hell’s Kitchen.
Tune in next week to the Hell’s Kitchen finale, Tuesday at 8pm ET on FOX. Much as I have loved Dave this season, a little part of me wants to see Kevin take it. My Connecticut boy needs to represent!
