Rock from Hells Kitchen

by Chef Rock
Winner of Hell's Kitchen Season 3

Can I call it or what?  Lovely went bye-bye but, as much of a genius that I am, my son could have seen that one.  I have to give to Lovely though.  She went out with grace and dignity after being axed. To read more about what she had to say after Gordon Ramsay gave her the boot, click here.

On with the show!

Let me start by pointing out that there was too much frickin’ yelling going on. Come on! Let’s Go! Do it now! Go! I almost threw up. Van: “BLUE TEAM!  FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!” Robert: “I ALMOST DIED FOR THIS SH**!” Give me a break. Even in the craziest of kitchens, the cooks can’t be hollering like that. It just throws everything off, and it is annoying. I don’t know if Van is on the juice or what, but homeboy has some serious emotional issues.  He even smiles when he yells sometimes.  WTF?

I get Robert.  I think I really understand him but Chef Scott said it best when he threw his Emmy-nominated tantrum on the deck; “…the competitive part should have come out at that time, not afterwards.” Chill, my man, and use your emotion to cook better.

After taking a week off, Jim came back strong with a quote that was all over Twitter on Tuesday night: “We got Dave and his wrist, Kevin and his ankles and Robert and his morbid obesity.” As cruel as that was, it was still a classic quote. Hey, it kept Jim from being the worst this week. I say keep him on for the quotes! “I’m not gonna run around, it all gets done.” Is probably the best, because it sums up why he won’t win.

This episode made me a bit sick at times.  Andy was right on with pointing out how lame all of the yelling was. Even the calm Kevin got in on the game. Even though Andy looks overwhelmed, I think it’s more that he is uncomfortable with the environment. I wouldn’t be able to do it; we would have a serious problem.

Did you see Chef Scott though?!?! Nose to nose with THAT man will make you cook a chicken correctly, huh, Andy?
Ariel still looks like a winner. She looks like someone who has worked in a kitchen before, and knew what she was doing. Cleary, Ariel is the best on her team.

My hometown amiga gave me something to be proud about this week! Damn Tennille; took you long enough!   She showed that, even if you don’t like someone, the job must get done. They rocked the challenge and she killed in service. Suzanne took it a bit too far, as she seemed to think that Tennille “needed” her to survive and morphed into Tennille’s personal mentor. Not a good move.  I just found out that Tennille is cooking at Sweetwater Tavern in Falls Church, Virginia. Check her out!

Tek finally showed us what she had! Too bad, she did better being quiet.

Sabrina was named best of the worst, although we didn’t see it. Good for her, though. I have to tell you though; I hate the whole “come talk to the Godfather” thing that goes on before elimination. I’m not saying Sabrina initiated that, because people came to talk to me when I was on HK; I just hate it though. It looks artificial and desperate.

I think that Dave thought he was going home because of his injury but, luckily for him, it was his choice.  Even though he came back and just rocked out desserts, he was a great energizer for the men.  Sometimes, you need that boost!  It worked and the guys took home the win.  I am more of the thought that you reserve patting yourself on the back for the championship, but some of these Chefs don’t agree with that.  We will see what next week will have in store!

12. Tek
11. Jim
10. Andy

If anyone knows where any of the chefs work, let me know so I can plug it!

Here are my predictions for next week…

Men: Jim and Andy
Women: Tek and Suzanne
Eliminated: Jim – Sorry brother, I think your time is up. Will I be wrong?
