Hey gang, we have a new exclusive interview with another realitywanted member turned reality TV star.  Amie Pollard, a radio DJ in AL, can be seen on the upcoming NBC reality show THE GREAT AMERICAN ROAD TRIP.  Amie and I have become good friends over the past few months and I cant wait to see her on the small screen July 7th on NBC.  Amie had her doubts when she first signed up to our little site (geez when will everyone stop the doubting:) but quickly found out realitywanted has become a trusted name and killer resource for casting, production, and networks.  I had a chat with Amie about her new show and her expereionce on RealityWanted.  Dont forget to tune in on July 7th and say hi to Amie here http://www.realitywanted.com/amiepollard

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Tell me a little bit about yourself?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: I host a morning radio show in Alabama. The station is 93.7 fm Kicking Country.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: When did you realize you wanted to be on reality TV?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: I have wanted to do reality TV for the past three or four years. I was one of the first Big Brother junkies, and the show intrigued me. It wasn’t until September of last year that I announced on my radio show that I was going to start researching shows.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What did you run across in your search?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: I found hundreds of casting sites. I was looking for a site that had everything all in one place. The other sites would only give me bits and pieces of what I was looking for. As someone brand new to this (reality TV) I found RealityWanted.com to be the best.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What did you like so much about it?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: The first thing that caught my eye at RealityWanted was the testimonials. I read through them and they all said that by using the site they were casted for this, or got a call back to that. I figured there had to be something to it. Second, I noticed that you could join for free. If you can join for free it can’t be a site that is just trying to get your money. I ended up joining.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: How many shows did you apply for once you joined?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: I only applied for the things that I thought were a fit for me. I only ended up applying for seven shows because I wanted to be considered a fit candidate. When applying for shows, it is important to only apply for the things that you think are perfect for you.

Mark: RealityWanted.com: How did The Great American Road Trip come about?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: When I saw the casting call for the show, I got really excited. It seemed like a great fit for me, and it was a trip for the whole family which made it perfect because I was worried about leaving my family. I went on air during my radio show and I said that I was going to do it. I filled out the bio and I was truthful about myself and what each member of the family brought to the table.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What was it like getting a call back?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: They actually called me six hours, after I filled out the bio. I was really excited.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: That’s around the time that you and I became friends, and we talked on your show.
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: Yes, it was. It was such a pleasure having you on the show, because you and your site really educates people about reality TV. You tell everybody exactly what to do and if people take heed to your casting tips, they will know the process. I took in every piece of advice I could from you and your site. That’s probably the only reason I was successful.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com. I really appreciate that. Can you tell me a little bit about The Great American Road Trip?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: The show is about seven families from all over the U.S. All seven families travel the historic Route 66 in an RV, and each family is responsible for their survival in the RV. There are competitions and eliminations until there is one family left that is the winner. The winner at the end gets the grand prize.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Where did you guys travel?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: We traveled all over. We started the competition in Chicago on Wrigley Field. It was the coolest thing ever. We also got to see some quirky things like the world’s biggest ketchup bottle in Collinsville, Illinois.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What advice would you give to people?
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip: I cannot stress it enough; only apply for shows that
you think are a perfect fit for you. If you apply for everything, casting directors will see that and
won’t take you seriously. They will think that you just want to be on TV. Don’t try to be anyone
else. Just be you, and apply for things that are perfect for you.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Thanks for talking with me today Ami.
A. Amie Pollard, The Great American Road Trip:  You’re welcome. Tell everyone to watch the show, you will laugh, you will cry and you will see how 7 very different families interact with one another after being locked up in an RV.
