The 2nd part of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion touches on Dina’s previous dip into reality television when My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding was aired on VH1 a few years ago. Dina admits that she had originally invited 50 people and her wedding ended up being 750 people! The majority of this season for Dina revolved around her battle to stay at home with her daughter or go to work.

Danielle admits to a rumor that at one time she “hooked up” with Don Johnson, although he denied it when asked. She has regrets about the phone sex being mentioned on TV. She also says she was hurt by the “husband stealer” remarks on the show.
Jacqueline and Danielle’s friendship has remained strained and neither of them seem to know or want to answer the question on where they stand today.

The 6th character of The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Season 1 has been “The Book” which surfaced in Episode 4. Danielle chooses to answer the questions of the book: Who is Beverly Merrill? It was Danielle’s first name that she changed. Husband Stealer? No. Stripper? No, but she admits to being a go-go dancer and a burlesque dancer but never taking her clothes off. Escort? No. In a relationship with a Colombian cocaine dealer? No comment, on this question she refers to a book that she is writing to “take down” Kevin Maher, her ex-husband (notably, he is also an ex-criminal and ex-informant). Nymphomaniac? Yes. Kidnapping? No, but she was arrested as an accomplice on 17 counts of something or other. Pathological Liar? No (I think this is when Caroline starts really rolling her eyes) Drug Parties? At this, Danielle starts to get visibly upset and opens up about a terrible childhood and poor decisions she has made in the past. She doesn’t answer the drug party question. Her mug shot is out on the Internet now, and surprisingly, she doesn’t look entirely different from what she did in 1986. As a matter of fact, her looks differ more so in the season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and the Reunion!

We find out that after the Finale, Caroline had offered to meet Danielle at Chateau the Art of Beauty, to find out who had exposed the book there, but Danielle never took her up on her offer.

Danielle admits that by not going to the source of who exposed “The Book” from the get-go, she wasted a lot of energy, and admits to her mistakes. She then apologizes to everyone, and says that it was difficult to watch the show.
Dina responds that if Danielle is truly sorry, she would be willing to accept her apology, but only time will tell if she has changed as a person or not.

Caroline, on the other hand, referring to an event that took place behind the scenes of the show, breaks down and tells Danielle that she will never be a friend of hers. She thinks that Danielle is “garbage”. Ouch!

Meanwhile, Danielle looks on stoically, claiming that she has no idea what Caroline is referring to.

Even as a viewer, I wonder while watching this last scene if Danielle is indeed, as her ex-husband says a “pathological liar” and everyone besides Caroline, on the stage, is being pulled into Danielle’s pathos?

One can never tell, but one thing my Italian mother taught me is this: Where there is smoke, there is fire. And so ends the first season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
