Posted on 05/15/2009 by RealityWanted in Hells Kitchen and Cast Interviews
Hells Kitchen fans, I got a quick chat with Danny Hells Kitchens season 5 winner. When I mean quick it was quick and I wasn’t as prepared for the call since the original time slot was moved and I had a spaced out Friday. Here is what I grabbed.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Danny, what’s up man, how’s the big press day?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: It’s been great so far.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: I know you didn’t just turn that door knob last night, how long has it been since you officially won Hells Kitchen 5?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: It’s been about a year.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Well that must suck to sit there and hold in that kind of information.
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: No kidding, it’s a relief to go out and talk about it now.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Tell the world why you decided to go on Hells Kitchen?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: I have been a big fan of the show and from the couch it looked easy.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: It’s not easy is it?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: Not at all.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: From what I’m told it’s like Survivor in the Kitchen. Meaning it’s not all about cooking, the kitchen is set up to be a challenge.
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: It is, for examples they would have us prep the place in 6 hours when it would normally take 12. It’s more than cooking, you have to work well on challenges in a high pressured environment.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What kind of training did you have before you took part in this?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: I had about 2 years at a vocational school and the rest was on the job training. I didn’t have any fine dining experience.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: When does the Borgata gig start?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: I start at the end of the month.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: So some people just hated the fact they were on the show, this might be hard for you since you won, but if you didn’t win would you have been happy?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: Even if I didn’t win, not only would I have been happy I did it, I would do it again. I love environments like this.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What about all the crazy media and bloggers getting into your business?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: Some cast members take what people say online so personally. Why let some stranger who doesn’t even know you bother you. I had bloggers fans talk trash about me, but I’m not going to sit here and cry myself to sleep.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: I know your friends with Robert since I stalked out his Facebook. He did tell me whoever wins would have to wonder if they could have beat him. Would you have beat him?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: I think he is talented, but like I said on the show I think I could have beaten anyone.
Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: I know you’re a busy guy, but what would you say to Hells Kitchen wannabes?
A. Danny Hells Kitchen Season 5: Make sure you stay true to yourself and get ready for a hell of a lot of pressure.
