On tonight’s episode of Survivor: Tocantins, Debbie starts to realize that aligning herself with Coach may not be the best thing for anymore in the game. She approaches JT and Taj to try to get an in with them and save her own butt before they pick her off. Stephen immediately picks up on the fact that she’s a very strategic player and is on to her manipulative ways.
Yay! It’s the Survivor auction tonight, one of my favorite challenges of the entire season. The players are given $500, they must be in $20 increments, and they can’t share money or food. Nobody ever paid more money in their life for food! Here’s how it all went down:
Taj breaks down while watching the video and, at the very end, her husband, Eddie, says something very important: “See you back at the camp!” When she realizes what he said, she runs to her tribemates, hugging them and sobbing. Before she can celebrate, Jeff hits her with a serious twist. If she sacrifices herself and goes to Exile Island, everyone else can have their loved ones at camp. Otherwise, only she will get to see hers. That is so rough. Oh wait, Eddie gets to go to Exile with her. No brainer. She agrees and everyone gets to see their loved ones. Nice move, Taj.
At the Forza camp, Debbie’s husband, Stephen’s brother, JT’s sister, Erinn’s dad, and Coach’s assistant coach were all waiting for them with open arms. The loved ones weren’t exactly as adjusted to camp life as the players, but that’s to be expected. At Exile, Eddie is impressed with the way that his wife has handled herself in the game and braved the wilderness. I think Taj and Eddie should have their own reality show - I love them!
As soon as the loved ones are gone, everyone goes back to strategizing. Debbie begins campaigning to get Coach out of the game. She better hope he doesn't win individual immunity! For tonight's challenge, players have to make their way through a series of obstacles to a field where they'll find 10 spinning math symbols. They have to race back and write them in the correct order to solve an equation. JT takes an early lead with Debbie and Coach not too far behind. Stephen, who was far behind and made only one trip out to look at the symbols, comes from behind to win. He explained his strategy to Jeff and my brain seriously melted. Smarty pants...
At camp, JT makes a case for his alliance to vote out Debbie but Stephen doesn’t think it’s a good idea just yet. For one, Debbie works hard around camp and she also has promised to be loyal to them. It looks like it’s between Coach and Debbie tonight. During tribal council, Jeff picks on Coach for his wild stories but he says he loves when people question him. We’ll see if he’ll stick around to tell some more tales at camp after the vote. Jeff reads off the results: Taj. Coach. Debbie. Debbie. Debbie. With three votes, Debbie is blindsided and voted out of the game.
