Americas Next Top Model 12

by Danae Young

This week on America’s Next Top Model, the girls were taken to a mansion where they took a classes at Miss J’s Charm School. The girls had to dress up in a preppy, conservative looking outfits and had to show grace, poise, and elegance in their runway walk. Most of the girls did okay but Allison seemed to have the most trouble. Miss J put a book on her head for balance to help with her walk which really did not help much. Allison spent the rest of the day back at the Manhattan house practicing her walk for the runway challenge coming up the next day.

The next day, the girls hopped into their stylish pink and purple plaid limo and headed to the Jill Stuart runway show.  Their challenge was not only to walk well down the runway, but walk well while holding shopping bags. Tahlia had a weak walk because her lack of confidence got in the way of her nerves. Allison started freaking out but seemed to do a lot better than I expected her to. Natalie kept telling the girls she had experience in runway walking.  She ended up getting a little overconfident on the runway and did a weird twirl in the middle of her walk. Despite the twirl, Natalie won the runway walk competition. Later that night, Tahlia was feeling down and called her sister and told her she wanted to go home. I say if she has that little confidence and really wants to go home, she should so she doesn’t waste anyone else’s time.

For their photo shoot the next day, the girls were on a double decker bus and split up into groups. Each group was given a different theme to portray: the different famous areas of Manhattan. Fo and Aminat did an awesome job as Wall Street brokers. Nijah and Kortnie were supposed to be Soho artists but I didn’t see anything in their picture that had anything to do with that. Sandra and Celia were nannies that ignored the babies they were watching. Allison and London made a poor attempt at capturing 5th Avenue Socialites. Tahlia, Natalie, and Teyona were tourists in Times Square which I thought turned out really great minus the fact that Natalie looked a little too fake. However, the good news is Tahlia finally got some confidence and had a pretty outstanding photo. I think we all know the biggest news of this entire episode is that Sandra didn’t cause any drama! Gasp!

When it came time for deliberation, the judges decided Nijah was just a pretty face that wasn’t performing well in photographs so she was sent home.
