Ghost Hunters - “Betsy Ross House”

Ghost Hunters

It seemed like years but the original Ghost Hunters, SCI-FI’s highest rated show,  are finally back for their 5th season.  The only major team change was adding Amy Bruni as a full time investigator.  Amy, who has led the TAPS west coast team and has joined Jason and Grant before on investigations, finally get’s her shot with the east coast based team and now TV stars.  Kris Williams, the team sweetheart, has already updated her picture on the Ghost Hunters site to something more….well…sexy.  So has the granola girl next door become a diva?  Will her and Amy clash?  Of course viewers are looking forward to watch frat-like buddies, Dave Tango and Steve Gonsalves, play off each other like Laurel and Hardy, Bill and Ted, or more recently Jon Stewart and wacko Jim Cramer.  It looks like former Ghost Hunters, Dustin Pari and Joe Chin will, remain busy with the Ghost Hunters International team.

Hannum House, Glenn Mills, PA
The team wasted no time digging into their new investigation, showing no signs of their celebrity status and all the signs of focusing on a serious look into what’s causing the eerie moments occurring in this 1695 built house.  The Hannum house, which now holds a family of 3, had been used in revolutionary times as a court house, church, and a tavern.  The family and it’s sometimes renting tenants, claim seeing ghostly apparitions of men dressed in civil war like outfits, hearing footsteps in the night, and furniture moving by itself.

Jason and Grant experienced a lot of EMF activity in the child’s bedroom, including hearing footsteps and having the bed Grant was sitting on begin vibrating.   Certainly this was a concern for them because the main reason they were investigating the house was because the little girl living there seemed to be the most affected by the paranormal activity.  The other investigators didn’t have many personal experiences, if any at all, so they hoped something would pop-up while reviewing the evidence.  Some EVPs that were captured in the attic, but nothing on film, at least not haunted by beings that intend to harm anyone.

Betsy Ross House – Philadelphia, PA
Now a frequent stop for tourists, the Betsy Ross house has had it’s guests and workers experience many of the usual paranormal activities; shadow figures, people being touched, and a man’s voice said to be that of a security guard shot to death by another worker and left to die in the basement.
Any place with a long history seems to be a sticky web for it’s former residents, although I’m not sure Betsy seemed like someone looking to spook people out.

Jason and Grant experienced hearing footsteps and at one point a loud moan came from, what seemed like, the upstairs area.  At another point they heard a conversation going on, and no other team members were present.  When it came down to it, the team didn’t have much evidence to go on but don’t let that ruin your vacation plans. The gift shop was rockn’ with Christmas gifts…you do know Christmas is only 9 months away don’t you?
