Andrew Sabat from Solitary 3.0
I caught up with Andrew of Fox Reality’s Solitary 3.0, you can catch Andrew Saturday nights on Fox Reality or online at Hulu.com http://www.hulu.com/solitary

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What’s up man, glad to have the chance to catch up with you.
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: No problem, it’s great to have the chance to talk about the show.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: So where are you right now?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: I am in San Diego going to San Diego State.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Nice, start off by telling us why you wanted to be on Solitary 3.0?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: I had a goal to be on Reality TV but didn’t want to go on a show where others would have to chance to vote me off and so on. I simply wanted to test my own abilities and endurance.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Well its sounds like you picked the right gig.
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: When I saw Phu Pham win the entire season, it shocked me and I knew I had to apply for season 3.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: So far you guys have had some interesting challenges with food, sleep deprivation, odd smells and pain. What was one of the hardest things you went through?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: The clothes pins, it was miserable.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com:  What else strange happened while in Solitary?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: I actually hallucinated at one point, I saw a computer mouse scrolling across the roof.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: So looking at the show from the outside in, at home is much different than looking at it from the inside out?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: There is a quote I have used at our fraternity that deals with people looking from the inside out and outside in and how much easier it is. I used to watch this show and think “I could do that” but it’s much harder to do and harder to explain from inside to the outside world.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Well, speaking of fraternity, I emailed you after I watched the last episode and saw some Greek letters you wrote on the inside wall of your pod. I saw the letters then hit rewind and went, “cool he is a brother.”
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: Yes sir, I am a Kappa Sigma at San Diego State.

Mark, RealityWanted.com: I was a Kappa Sigma at Arizona State, small world and what a cool way to find the connection. Let’s move back to the show so readers don’t lose focus.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: How secluded are you when you’re on the show?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: I was blind folded on day one and dropped off in my pod, I met RobRob on the first episode then locked up alone for the remainder of the season.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: When you participate in shows like Survivor or Amazing race you have production and camera crew following you around, as well as the rest of the cats.
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: Mark, the only thing I heard was Val’s voice and I never saw another human being, you are truly isolated.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: That’s the crazy part, you are probably getting to know the cast just like viewers since you didn’t get to know one another during the season.
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: Exactly, I actually read Maureen’s interview on RealityWanted to get an idea as to what she went thorough. We never really had the chance to get to know one another.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What surprised you the most about your cast mates?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: By the way Val was talking, I underestimated Pod #3.  Val told us her personal item was nail polish and she was only 19, I assumed she would be eliminated right away. Pod #9 is just out of control and really surprised me.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: What did you take away from all of this?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: That I shouldn’t underestimate myself, if I set my mind to something I can accomplish it. I never thought I could handle the pain as well as I did.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: If you were to win what would you do with the money?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: I would get a new car, surprise my mom with a nice plasma TV, and get some crazy gadget for my dad.

Mark, RealityWanted.com: I guess you will have to belly up now if you win since this is in writing and online for your folks to read.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Before you go what can you tell readers about the casting process.
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: I know this has been said 1,000 times but be yourself and make sure you show who you are during the auditions.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Do you have any links or other info you want to share with us?
A: Andrew Sabat, Solitary 3.0: Fans can add me on Facebook or Myspace at http://www.myspace.com/andrewsabat , a buddy of mine and I also shoot video at events and the site is http://starscream.tv/
