Whether you've followed The Real World since its very first season, catch it every now and then, or just became a fan recently, one thing is certain.  Everybody wants to get inside that house each season.  If there's one thing MTV knows how to do right, it's pick an amazing location for The Real World house and make it look like the place that any 20-something (or 30-something, cough cough) would love to get their hands on.  Last month, before the new season premiered, I was invited to Brooklyn to not only tour the house, but sit down with each of the roomies and get to know them a little bit.  In recent seasons, the cast has been chock full of people I wouldn't hang out with at any time for any reason.  This season, The Real World: Brooklyn features 8 people I'd grab coffee or a drink with any day.  Read on for more about my day in The Real World: Brooklyn house.

Getting to the house was a little bit of a challenge.  It's located in the Red Hook district, full of one way streets, and not much else besides Fairway market and an IKEA store.  As I drove through the area, I wondered where the heck these people went for fun when filming.  I'd soon find out that the answer was Manhattan.  Good choice.  After driving up to a million warehouses that looked just like the one The Real World filmed in, I finally found the place.  The first thing that you can't help but notice is a beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty and really, you couldn't ask for a better backdrop to look at each morning in New York.  The gym is located on the first floor of the building, stocked full of weights, snacks, energy drinks, and a stripper pole.  What else did you expect?

As you walk in the door, on the second floor to get into their house, there is a small hallway and then you are immediately in an open area which includes the kitchen and a sitting area.  Baya and Sarah hung out on the couches and talked a lot about the laid back vibe of the cast this season.  Past the sitting area is a room with a pool table where Scott and JD said they enjoyed hanging out.  I was only allowed to visit two of the bedrooms but since one of them belonged to Chet and Ryan, I wasn't complaining!  These two were nonstop entertainment the entire time we got to hang out and certainly have a bromance brewing that is worth tuning in for.  The other room belonged to Devyn and Katelynn, two girls that you feel you could chill with any day.  Sitting on Devyn's lap was Baby Brooklyn, a yorkie that will become the mascot for this season of The Real World.  How she found a yorkie that doesn't bark up a storm, I'll never know.

The only thing that would have made the day perfect was getting inside that confessional but it was off limits to visitors that day, along with other bedrooms and areas of the house.  However, an hour in The Real World house is more than most people get and I wasn't complaining.  The roomies were totally personable, warm, and friendly and not just because they had to be.  They were actually real people: intelligent, driven people who could do more than just knock back drinks at a bar each night.  I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't starting to lose a little faith in The Real World, opting more for RW/RR challenges because they featured some of my favorite cast members from past seasons.  However, Brooklyn has won me over hook, line, and sinker.

The Real World airs on MTV Wednesday nights at 10pm ET.
