I have never been this excited about the premiere of The Bachelor before.  In fact, the only time I ever watched it was when it first premiered several years ago.  But I did tune into The Bachelorette last year and watched DeAnna Pappas break Jason Mesnick’s heart and he was MY number one pick for her.  I am so glad they brought Jason back to find a woman that is really worth of him.  He is a beautiful person, inside and out.  As for DeAnna Pappas, I gave her and Jessie six months and that’s about how long their relationship lasted.

Jason met the 25 women competing for his heart:

Jillian – Restaurant Designer
Stacia – Charity Accountant
Dominique – Medical Saleswoman
Melissa – Sales Representative
Nikki – Administrative Assistant
Renee – Jewelry Designer
Jackie – Wedding Coordinator
Stephanie – Medical Marketing
Lauren – Teacher
Shelby – Account Executive
Naomi – Flight Attendant
Molly – Department Store Buyer
Shannon – Dental Hygienist
Megan – Lacrosse Coach
Kari – Advertising Executive
Sharon – Teacher
Natalie – Human Resources
Lisa – Public Relations
Treasure – Nurse Practitioner
Raquel – Medical Student
Erica – Account Executive
Nicole – Menswear Buyer
Emily – Casino Marketing
Julie – Teacher
Ann – Flight Attendant

Out of 25 girls, only 15 will compete going forward.  Jason was given one red rose, a “first impression rose” to give to one girl before the regular rose ceremony.  I was rooting for Stephanie. I do hope I have the right girl. She is the woman who has a small child like Jason, who lost her husband to a tragic accident.  She is the one that impressed me the most, although I’m not sure she’s right for Jason.  But I guess that is yet to be seen.

One twist for the night was that all the girls voted for one girl they wanted to leave the house.  Some voted for the woman they just didn’t warm up to while others voted for their biggest competition.   Megan received the most votes, but the real shocker was instead of being sent home, Megan received the second rose from Jason before the final rose ceremony.  I was a little disappointed because I wanted Megan to go home as well.  Yes, she has a bond with Jason because she too is a single parent.  But first of all, what kind of mother would leave a 14-month old baby to do a television show for a month or two?  And second, she has the mouth of a truck-driver and I see Jason with a woman who is a true lady, and that is not what Megan is.   When she learned she was the one voted by the majority of women she swore at the other girls right in front of Jason.  Hopefully he’ll see enough of this behavior to send her home packing at a later date, since he is looking for a woman with a good heart, and I don’t think that’s Megan.

These are the girls that made it through the first round.   The only disappointment for me was that Jason didn’t choose Dominique.  She was really cute in a quirky kind of way and I wanted to see more of her. The most beautiful, in my opinion, is Raquel.  I don’t see how Jason could ever resist someone of her class and beauty.  Although Naomi is a beautiful girl as well, I think she’s got a dark side that won’t take too long for us to witness.  I really liked Melissa and I am waiting to see how Jason reacts when he finds out that she used to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.   Here are the 15 finalists:

Jillian – Restaurant Designer
Melissa – Sales Representative
Nikki – Administrative Assistant
Stephanie – Medical Marketing
Lauren – Teacher
Naomi – Flight Attendant
Molly – Department Store Buyer
Shannon – Dental Hygienist
Megan – Lacrosse Coach
Kari – Advertising Executive
Sharon – Teacher
Natalie – Human Resources
Lisa – Public Relations
Raquel – Medical Student
Erica – Account Executive

One thing that did shock me a bit was the upcoming previews.  The show brings DeAnna back to talk to Jason and she tells him she think she made a mistake.  DUH!!!!!   We already knew that DeAnna.  I’m really upset with the show for putting Jason through the heartbreak of seeing DeAnna again.  Good TV or not, that was an unkind thing to do to our favorite bachelor!
