Dancing With The Stars 7th Season Premiere

I am so glad the fall season of television is back along with one of my favorite shows, Dancing With The Stars.  They have more couples than ever before competing for the crown and this is the first time they are requiring the couples to dance two dances on the very first week.  The bar has definitely been raised!  Here’s an introduction of this season’s stars, their partners, and their very first dance:

Cody Linley (Actor) & Julianne Hough did the cha-cha. Cody definitely showed great potential. Julianne’s choreography is always top notch so that will be an added advantage for him. Judges score = 18

Rocco DiSpirito (Chef) & Karina Smirnoff did the foxtrot.  Rocco is definitely handsome and charismatic but not so much so that we’ll be able to overlook his inability to dance.  Judges score = 14

Toni Braxton (Recording Artist) & Alec Mazo did the cha-cha.  Toni is absolutely stunning and she really did a fantastic job her first week out.  Judges score = 22

Maurice Greene (Olympic Gold Medalist) & Cheryl Burke did the fox trot.  Maurice definitely has the sex appeal and sexy moves that women viewers are going to love!  Judges score = 18

Brooke Burke (Model / TV Host) & Derek Hough did the cha-cha.  Brooke is absolutely gorgeous and knows how to move her body well.  With Derek’s choreography they will probably be a couple to beat.  Judges score = 23

Ted McGinley (Actor) & Inna Brayer did the fox trot.  The judges thought Ted did well but I felt bad for Inna.  As a newcomer it’s obvious her stay won’t be for long.  Judges score = 18

Lance Bass (Recording Artist) & Lacey Schwimmer did the cha-cha.  This will be one of my favorite couples this season.  I know this already because Lacey comes from So You Think You Can Dance, another one of my favorite shows.  I’m so excited to be able to see her dance again!  Len cheated her because they were really hot!!!!  Judges score = 22  

Cloris Leachman (Actress) & Corky Ballas did the foxt trot.  I won’t disrespect Ms. Leachman by writing what I really thought of her dancing.  It doesn’t matter - she’s a brilliant actress  and comedian and she looks better at 82 than I do at 51!  Judges score = 16

Jeffrey Ross (Stand-Up Comedian) & Edyta Sliwinska did the cha-cha.  It was painful to watch and if that wasn’t bad enough, I’ve never even heard of him as a comic.  I’m sure he’ll be the first to go home.  Judges score = (sorry – I didn’t catch it because I tuned out before the dance was over and my Tivo wasn’t recording it).

Kim Kardashian (Reality TV Star) &  Mark Ballas did the fox trot.  It was stiff and lacked any kind of style or personality.  Kim said she has no balance and in another breath she talked about winning. I have one question. Has she watched the show before???  Judges score = 19

Susan Lucci (Actress) & Tony Dovolani did the cha-cha.  I was a bit disappointed because I thought Susan would do really well.  I agreed with the judges – it was too careful and too cautious.  She needs to just let go and have more fun with it!   Judges score = 15

Misty May Treanor (Olympic Gold Medalist) & Maksim Chmerkovskiy did the fox trot.  It was a bit stiff but this girl has the upper body strength needed to do well in this type of competition.  She just needs to relax and enjoy it more.  Judges score = 21

Warren Sapp (NFL Player) & Kym Johnson did the cha-cha.  I’m not sure I agreed with the judges that his dancing was great but he’s adorable and that will carry him quite a few weeks into the competition.  Judges score = 21

The top couples for the night were Brooke & Derek (23), Toni & Alec (22), and Lance & Lacey (22).   At risk are Jeffrey & Edyta (?) and Rocco & Karina (14).
