Interview with Jeff Lewis and Jenni Pulos from Bravo’s Flipping Out
Q. So how has your OCD affected the show?
A. Jeff Lewis, (Flipping Out): My OCD actually became a major plot line of the show and I have been in therapy for the past several months. I am fearful of medications and their effects, so I have been reluctant to take them. I have trouble with coping skills but I am learning to lower the stress in my life and adapt better.
Q. How is it working with Jeff? How do you not take things personally?
A. Jenni Pulos, (Flipping Out): I have a lot of respect for Jeff's work. We have great rapport but I do stand up to him when it is necessary.
Q. Jeff, what do you like about working with Jenni?
A. Jeff Lewis, (Flipping Out): Her work ethic. She puts in 150% and also pursues an acting career. She basically works two jobs and I respect her drive and passion.
Q. Do you have any plans to look at real estate outside of Los Angeles?
A. Jeff Lewis, (Flipping Out): I would love to do fixer up properties in Manhattan, New York, but I know the market here and my crew is here. You have to know your neighborhoods to be a good house flipper.
Q. How was it with the cameras on you in season 2? Easier the second time?
A. Jenni Pulos, (Flipping Out): Nothing is really comfortable about reality TV but yes it became easier to be around the cameras.
Q. Can you give us some highlights of the season?
A. Jeff Lewis, (Flipping Out): There are going to be some staff changes and I had some doubts about my crew, so I installed a nanny cam and saw some stuff that was pretty shocking.
Q. So what's next for you Jenni?
A. Jenni Pulos, (Flipping Out): There are a lot of changes going on in my life right now. I have been pursuing acting more.
Q. Are there areas you are focusing on in Los Angeles to flip real estate?
A. Jeff Lewis, (Flipping Out): Los Feliz, Hancock Park, Studio City. There are about 7-8 cities we focus on but we are branching out more in the valley now.
Q. What is the biggest mistake a home flipper can make?
A. Jeff Lewis, (Flipping Out): There are several things. Not buying the property at a good value, not understanding the area and getting to know all the houses around, staying within a budget and where are the important improvements, not just putting all of the money into one room.
