ABC News is developing a documentary about couples considering therapy who are working on their marriages. They are particularly interested in couples who are staying together instead of divorcing because of these difficult economic times. No need to be in therapy currently but must be willing with to meet with a therapist on camera. Discreet videotaping would be done in therapy sessions and outside. This is an ambitious project that would require an unusual level of access and intimacy, but the producers have a strong track record reporting on intimate subjects with the utmost professionalism and sensitivity. The result would be a valuable and realistic documentary look at a phenomenon in American life.
