CASTING CALL: METEOROLOGIST


Are you a meteorologist who’s also a storm chaser – ready and willing to follow the eye of the storm into the most cataclysmic weather conditions on Earth? Think you can take the heat when it comes down to putting your science up against Mother Nature and all she can hurl at you?



Do you have the serious skills to predict everything from hurricanes to blizzards to sand storms… 5 to 7 days out? We’re looking for a highly trained forecaster who is an expert at knowing how to pass through the most intense spots while the storm hits, pinpointing not only location but also duration... when and where the storm will land.



A television production company is casting for a top-notch meteorologist for a new TV show that will be airing on a major cable network – and we need someone whose knowledge will be all that stands between the elements and two participants placed on a twenty-mile journey through the most treacherous weather in the country. Their lives depend on you!



You will be the expert who’ll keep the players and the audience on their toes. Can you explain how a blizzard thought to pass over in 12 hours can instead grow and intensify into a 2-day storm? Detail how hurricanes can stall and churn over a single spot for days then backtrack just when it looks as if the worst is over? Or predict how Nor’easters may pass over in less than a day, but describe how the flooding that follows can make getting out impossible?
