Tonight’s elimination show opened with the Top 10 singing RIGHT BACK TO WHERE WE STARTED FROM.  It was o.k. for me – nothing too special.

Early in the show they announced the first of the bottom three which was Chikezie, not a huge surprise with how much Simon batters his performance every week.   I was a bit caught off guard with the second one down however, and that was Syesha Mercado.  My guess for the bottom three would have been Chikezie, Kristy Lee, and Ramiele.  When they announced the third was not Kristy Lee or Ramiele and that it was Jason I was totally blown away.  I am sorry to see Chikezie go, but I wouldn’t have been any happier if it had been Syesha or Jason to leave the competition so soon either.

There was another great Ford commercial as well as a few interesting on-air Q&A’s from viewers.  One woman wanted to ask Simon what she would have to do to take over Ryan’s job to which Simon replied “you don’t need a lot of talent”.   There was a question for Brooke about who she would want to record a song with today if given the opportunity and she replied John Mayer (good choice Brooke).  I was glad David Archuleta was asked the same question I had which was why out of all the songs he could have chosen from his birth year did he choose YOU’RE THE VOICE?  He said because he loves it.  Alrighty then!  If that’s what makes David happy that’s what makes me happy too.  They saved the best question for last which was addressed to Simon asking him if he thinks he’s the most attractive person on the show.  He replied (blushing I might add) with “It’s not what I think it’s what everyone says.”  He’s so modest isn’t he?  A little humility goes a long way Simon!

Although I like Ruben Studdard, he wasn’t my number one choice to win that season.  It was Clay Aiken I was rooting for.  My number two choice was Kimberly Locke who’s CD I purchased when it came out after the season was over.  She honored us with a song tonight and announced her new CD being released.  Kimberley has also opened a steakhouse and wine bar called Croton Creek in Croton Falls, New York.  As a Lane Bryant spokes model, Kimberly is gorgeous whether she’s overweight or not.  It was nice to see her perform live again.

There was more promo for the April 9th Idol Gives Back episode where they will try to top the $76 Million raised last year.  I’m sure they’ll do it with the star-studded cast they’ve got planned for that night.
 
OK I have two frustrations to vent before I close.  WHERE ARE THE MENTORS THIS SEASON?????  I’m sorry but this is the most boring season I’ve ever watched.   And Kristy Lee Cook is still in the competition.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr……………………………
