Joel Experiences Instant Karma On Tonight's Survivor

Tonight’s Survivor opened with a twist as the Fans and the Favorites were asked to switch tribes.  Here’s the layout of the new tribes:

AIRAI (FANS) ~ Natalie, James, Alexis, Jonathon, Jason, Parvati, Kathy, and Eliza

MALAKAL (FAVORITES) ~ Ozzy, Joel, Amanda, Eric, Ami, Tracy, Cirie, and Chett

For the third week in a row, Chett walked around with a target on his back, but once again he narrowly escaped elimination.

The first challenge consisted of two tribe members being paired and roped together chasing another pair from the opposite tribe who were also roped together.  The objective was to grab a flag off of the back of the opposing tribe.  The team with the most flags won the challenge.  The reward was a meat and vegetable barbecue.

This was the most brutal challenge I’ve ever watched on Survivor.  Joel was dragging Chett around on a rope through the mud with no regard for this man’s physical well-being.  It was downright cruel.  Granted Chett can be a bit weak and useless during these challenges, but no human being deserves the kind of treatment he received from his fellow tribe member Joel who obviously couldn’t care less.   If you don’t like him vote him out, but don’t kill the guy!  Joel was not the only one to suffer injury during this challenge.  Parvati ended up with a fat lip (which will hopefully keep her quiet for a while) and Jonathon ended up with a deep wound in his leg that had to be sutured up by Survivor medics.  The winning team was the AIRAI Tribe.  Fortunately for the MALAKAL tribe they had quite a feast for themselves too when Amanda found a 35 pound shark in their net for their next meal!

The second challenge, for immunity, consisted of throwing rocks at ceramic tiles in order to release wooden puzzle pieces that later had to be put together.  During this challenge Chett proved to be an asset but Joel kept negating his guidance and as a result, even though they were way ahead in the challenge in the beginning, they ended up losing to the Airi tribe in the end.

Once again Cirie showed the power of her influence when she convinced a few people that Joel should probably be the one to go since he lost the challenge for them.  For the fourth week in a row the end result at tribal council blind-sided the person going home.  Between blindsiding Mary and Mickey at tribal council, and tonight dragging Chett around like a worthless dog, Joel’s karma was returned tenfold and he was the one voted out tonight.  I loved at the end of the show how he said it was “humiliating and insulting”.  Really Joel?  So tell me moron, how does it feel to be humiliated on national television?????

This was the first week where no one was sent to Exile Island so Ozzy’s fake idol is still up for grabs and will probably provide us with some entertaining television next week.
