Today we had the opportunity to speak with Atalya Slater the first girl eliminated from America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10. Atalya who is from New York and is currently a student had the following to say:

Q. What made you try out for Americas Next Top Model? Are you a fan of the show?

A. Atalya: I auditioned in New York at one of the open casting calls and ended up getting called back for the semi finals. I have been watching the show since cycle 1 and I have always wanted to tryout, so when I turned 18 I decided to apply.

Q. Did you think your look was too high fashion? Were you worried about eliminations?

A. Atalya: I think my look is both high fashion and commercial. I really wasn’t worried too much about the eliminations because in the past Tyra has let girls stay that didn’t have exactly what she was looking for.

Q. What did you think about the critiques from Paulina Porizkova? Did you think she was on target?

A. Atalya: She said I had beautiful almond shaped eyes and that I have to watch my angles because of my strong features. I already knew this so I think she was accurate in her assessment.

Q. Did you make any friends on the show that you will stay in touch with?

A. Atalya: Yes, I met some great girls. Kim, Marvita, Claire and Aimee I plan on staying in touch with.

Q. Jason, (RealityWanted.com): Tell me about the other girls were there some you didn’t get along with? Do you think someone else should have gone home before you?

A. Atalya: I was there for myself and to do the best I could. There were petty arguments and drama with the other girls, obviously that stuff is going to go on when you put a bunch of girls in a house. I don’t think I was the weakest link, I think Allison and Amis had bad critiques and probably should have gone in place of me.

Q. So how do you define a Top Model?

A. I think a Top Model is someone that is confident, strong and a good role model. One who is not a follower and someone with a great personality.

Q. Do you think you were let go too soon?

A. Atalya: Yes. I have the height and I am very versatile. I am realistic and they should have given me a chance.

Q. Who are you rooting for to win the competition?

A. Atalya: I would have to say Aimee, she is great.

Q. So what are your plans now, are you going to continue with modeling?

A. Atalya: I am definitely pursuing modeling. It doesn’t end here.

Q. Anything you want to say to your fans?

A. Atalya: Thank you for supporting me. I feel like a winner because I made it out of the thousands that applied.
