Last week we had the chance to speak with Mary Sartain, the second contestant eliminated from Survivor Micronesia. I was surprised and happy to find out that Mary and Ryan Opray of Survivor Pearl Islands were recently engaged so I had to call Ryan to find out more. Below you will find the interview I had with Mary last Friday and the chat I had with Ryan this afternoon while he and Mary were at Saddle Ranch in Hollywood.

Interview With Mary Sartain

Q. What surprised you the most after watching the last two episodes?

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: All of the back stabbing and sabotage going on behind the scenes, I had no idea so many people were talking about me.

Q. Were you expecting to go home, I assume you weren’t ?

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: I was not expecting to go home at all, I assumed it was going to be Tracey.

Q. Were you and Mikey B in an actual alliance?

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: We did pull one another aside and agreed never to vote each other out but it was really all seven of us.

Q. What was the hardest thing to deal with being out there?

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: The elements were the most difficult, it rained for days, we were cold, wet and had no proper shelter.

Q. What about hookups on the Fans side? We saw two couples form on the Favorites side.

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: There was no real romance or any jungle love going on over on our side. I know Joel and Mikey B wanted to win over all the ladies and Joel did flirt with Alexis a bit.

Q. So no showmances with anyone on the fans side, I wanted some juicy gossip?

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: None that I can talk about, I personally didn’t find anyone attractive but I did find Ryan “Ryno” Opray after the taping ended.

Q. That’s great news, I will have to call him up and get some info on this. What did you think about Fairplay and his asking to be sent home?

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: I had no idea he would have been the first one to be sent home or ask to be sent home. I think it’s weird to ask to get back on Survivor since it takes so much to get on the show and there are thousands that would have done anything to be in his place and then ask to leave.

Q. I know you have to run, but what about Joel? He seems a bit over the top.

A. Mary Sartian, Survivor Micronesia: I think Joel is a paranoid guy and thought Mikey B had too much control. I think Joel over analyzes things and jumped the gun.

Interview with Ryan Opray

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Ryan what’s up man, long time no talk sorry I missed you last week when I was in LA. So I talked with Mary on Thursday and forgive me for not being up to speed on things but you two are engaged?

A. Ryan Opray, Survivor Pearl Islands: Yes, we did get engaged.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: When did this happen and how did you guys meet?

A. Ryan Opray, Survivor Pearl Islands: We met via another Survivor contestant at the beginning of December while at a party at Scorpion.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: You met this past December? Man, you don’t mess around do you?

A. Ryan Opray, Survivor Pearl Islands: I actually proposed about 14 times before she said yes.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Where did this go down?

A. Ryan Opray, Survivor Pearl Islands: I proposed to her while hiking in Runyon Canyon, I used a small bottle cap ring deal since I didn’t have the real one yet.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Very nice, do you guys have a date set yet?

A. Ryan Opray, Survivor Pearl Islands: We may have it at Bacara in Santa Barbara around Sept 20th but we are not 100% sure yet.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Be sure to send us an invite so we can cover it for Survivor fans. What else are you two up to?

A. Ryan Opray, Survivor Pearl Islands: We are going to open an upscale Sushi Bar/Lounge in Hollywood later this summer, we are also getting a house together and pitching a new reality show idea to the Travel Channel.

Q. Mark, RealityWanted.com: Great news on all fronts. Thanks for the update and tell Mary I said hi.

A. Ryan Opray, Survivor Pearl Islands: Sounds great man, Ill talk with you later.
