FOX announced the new series "The Masked Dancer" in partnership with Ellen DeGeneres to produce the celebrity competition show based on FOX's hit series "The Masked Singer." The new series was inspired by the popular segment featured on "The Ellen Show."
According to the FOX press release, "In this all-new format, celebrity contestants will perform unique dances, while covered from head-to-toe in elaborate costumes and face masks, leaving audiences to guess their identities."
Rob Wade, President, Alternative Entertainment & Specials, FOX Entertainment stated in the press release, "We're still blown away by 'The Masked Singer's' massive impact on pop culture, but when Ellen debuted her own inventive segment, 'The Masked Dancer,' on her show, we were truly amazed," he added, "We are thrilled to partner with Ellen on this new format and take 'The Masked Dancer' to a whole new creative level."
Ellen weighed in on the exciting announcement saying, "This is gonna be just as fun and suspenseful as 'The Masked Singer', but with a lot more Krumping."
Season 3 of "The Masked Singer" premieres on Sunday, February 2 following Super Bowl LIV on FOX. The network has not yet confirmed an expected release date for the new "The Masked Dancer" series.
