So You Think You Can Dance boasts some pretty incredible adults with some insane dance abilities. But this season, So You Think You Can Dance added "The Next Generation" and, they showed us that kids can be equally as crazy with their talent. We've seen moves that would make a seasoned prima jealous and that's nothing to scoff at.
Per usual in any So You Think You Can Dance season, SYTYCD: The Next Generation gave us a few sob stories and few feel good stories, too. One story, in particular, stood out from the beginning. Kida a 14 year old hip hop dancer from Sacramento, CA was dancing in his father's memory. And if that's all that fueled him, he must have all the feels regardless of his stoic persona.
During the 2 hour Season 13 finale the audience got to watch the Top 10 dancers perform as well as performances from judge/dancer Maddie Ziegler and Russian ballet dancer Sergei Polunin (holy leaps!). However, all fingernails were chewed off by the time host Cat Deeley got around to eliminating the other contestants: J.T. Church, Emma Hellenkamp and Tate Mcrae. Through the tears of saying goodbye to those adorable faces we have grown to love, that could only mean one thing... that Kida Burns had been voted as America's Favorite Dancer! Kida walks away with cash prize of $250,000 and the cover of Dance Spirit magazine... and all the admiration any adult or child can muster.
