Tonight Steven Van Zandt and Sia are mentors (Sia even performers her new song "Cheap Thrills") and David cook as well as Katherine McPhee perform. It all leads us to the top 4, who will perform in these final weeks (ever) of American Idol. Did you see La'Porsha's hair?? Her fro has transformed into dreads along her transformation to American Idol winner. Pure speculation on that last part.

Classic Rock Round

La'Porsha - Dead or Alive - Honestly, I would have picked a different song for her. But can she really do any wrong?

Mackenzie Bourg - I Want You To Want Me - Folk-y and slow. I've never thought of this as a low ballad and always enjoyed it as a girls pop/punk scream a la 10 Things I Hate About You. But, hey... whatever gets ya goin'.

Trent Harmon - Sharp Dressed Man - He's never been my fave but maybe by now I should be giving him a chance? He seemed to give his classic tune a metal vibe.

Dalton Rappatoni - God Only Knows - The pretty skaterboi needs an upbeat. His voice sounds good raw and slow, though.

Round Sia

La'Porsha - Elastic Heart - She made Sia cry. SHE MADE SIA CRY.

Mackenzie Bourg - Titanium - Cool and mellow. But everyone loves Sia because she belts. Get out there, Mac!

Trent Harmon - Chandelier - Ok, ok. He's good. Finally someone belted.

Dalton Rapattoni - Birds Set Free - Eh. And I'm sad about that. He looked like he really felt what he was singing.

So La'Porsha in the top two, no? Who will join her? John Mayer lite Mackenzie, pretty skaterboi Dalton or Trent? The way AI is working this season there's really no telling. They may just up and announce the winner next week. Their show, their rules. I see La'Porsha and Trent in your future.
