Kate Plus 8: the Sextuplets Turn 11

The sextuplets are turning 11 years old and Kate's looking for something she considers more "progressive". Turns out it's not such a good idea. By progressive it means progression from one section of the party to another. Since the sextuplets include boys and girls, sleepovers would be coed. To get through this by loophole, Kate is taking the kids to a hotel so that each group, including their friends (13 kids total), has their own room. Even with a list of what to pack for a one night stay, Kate is left to shuffle through and re-pack each bag. We all know 10 year olds can't be trusted.

After meeting with the kids' friends and their parents they head to their destination. First up: the Castle roller rink. Next: a pizza party at Caruso's. But there's no such thing as having a normal pizza, instead they have to order appetizers and specialty pizzas... because they are turning 11 so, duh. Stop 3 is cake and ice cream at the hotel. In true type-a Kate fashion, cake will not be served until the birthday horns are put away. And now that they are all psychotic on sugar, its presents time! The best parts of childhood. The last part of the puzzle is a movie and popcorn in the separate rooms... or so Kate thought. It becomes more like supervision for the boys for their own safety (boys will be boys) and calming the girls down about everything not being fair. But yet they make it to their 8:30a breakfast somehow.

Here's the rundown of how the kids have grown - Leah is small but loud, Colin has learned he has a few educational and social challenges, Aiden is finally coming out of his shell, Hannah is closest to acting like a teenager than any of them, Joel has become more responsible, Alexis is loving all things science more and more. Happy birthday, kids! And good luck, Kate, you're one year closer to having 8 teenagers in the house.
