Kate Plus 8: the Room Project

It's a week after summer vacation and the kids are back in school. Now the kids are getting new rooms. Mady and Cara get their own rooms, the boys are going into the basement and the girls are getting the older girls old room. No wonder Kate has stress induced shingles on her face. Not only is there nothing but yelling from every and all females of the house, but Kate decided to let them graffiti their old rooms before the painters arrive. Of course the children get paint where paint shouldn't be getting so cue the extra anxiety attack. All of the stress was worth it. The boys are in love with their secret cubby windowsills and the girls love their personal vanities. Mady and Cara, however, are just as moody about their beautiful new (separate) rooms as they would be about a rainy day. So it goes until they have children of their own... or re-watch these episodes as adults.

On the Gosselin calendar it's time to carve pumpkins. For a woman who dislikes chaos and mess, this doesn't seem like the brightest idea. But pumpkin smashing does sound fun. Unless it involves teenage girls with bad attitudes, which of course it does. After five minutes of yelling they finally get into it, though. Whew... crisis averted. Know what else doesn't sound like a good idea? 8 children in a house with musical instruments. Maybe instead of new bedrooms Kate should've just built them their own heavily insulated room unattached to the house.
