Tonight's second installment of the battle rounds was shortened to one hour (why!!) but here are my picks for the best performances:
Taylor Phelan & Jordy - Team Pharrell
Alicia and Pharrell gave them The Script's "Breakeven" easily one of the best songs ever written. They were both doing a good job in rehearsals, but Alicia pointed out that she didn't believe they were heart broken while they were singing. So they tried to gloom it down a bit. Taylor won the battle round (he's my favorite!) so he'll be moving on with Team Pharrell.
Menlik & Troy Ritchie - Team Gwen
Gwen and Gavin choose the classic "Maneater" for these two. With two very different sounds, they were able to mesh together in a very seamless way. Blake called it the best battle of the night. It was a very difficult choice, but Gwen went with Troy. Thankfully Menlik was up for grabs and Adam and Pharell both wanted him. As Adam predicted, he chose Pharrell.
Next week the battle rounds conclude and soon we move onto the knockout rounds!
