The day has come, Real Housewife of New Jersey, Teresa Giudice, and husband Joe arrived at a Federal court in New Jersey looking somber this morning...and for good reason. Today they were delivered a very heave dose of non-scripted reality.
Joe Giudice was sentenced to 41 months in prison for a list of tax, mortgage and bankruptcy fraud charges. He is also ordered to pay restitution fees of $414,000.
Teresa Giudice received her sentencing after Joe, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison. There were hopes that Teresa would receive probation, house arrest and community service, but it turns out U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas was not impressed the couple didn't disclose a complete list of assets before their sentencing.
It was stated that the couple will served staggered sentences so they can take care of their daughters, and Teresa is set to begin her sentencing first on January 5, 2015.
It was a bad day for the Giudices today, but the sentencing really shows the magnitude and seriousness of their crimes. And now Mike Sorrentino "The Situation" is also faces tax fraud charges. What is with people from New Jersey evading taxes?
