Utopia: the Utopia Experience

We're back with week three of our favorite social experiment. It's day 20 and no one else has left. Couple update: Bris (Bri and Chris) have decided to separate (as in move their beds across the room from each other). Ha! If you've watched the live feed you know that they are still bed buddies despite the splitting of the beds. And #OmaHottie Taylor (one half of Tex) admits to Hex that he was a male escort for a year. No wonder he's ok with knowing so little about a lot... at least he's pretty.

Every few days a Utopian will have their chance at their idea of a perfect government. This week the new government is set as a matriarchy via Bella. And who could blame her after the mockery Mike put on about sending her water filter back without her knowledge and chef Aaron telling her that feminine hygiene products will be personal expenses rather than a community necessity. I mean, is he aware of how many women are in Utopia? Is there anything equivalent that the men would have to spend their personal money on? Then, during her announcement of Girl Power! power, libertarian Rob calls the new governing system a "tampon party". Really? REALLY?!? Be a little more open minded. Like Red. Oh, wait... Red is pissed about the change. In all honesty, I get what she's going for but it's coming across a bit cheesy.

Each month a pioneer gets a visit from their family. They unanimously agree that Red will get the first visit and his family travels over 2,000 miles from Kentucky to see him. Can you say 'conjugal visit'? Taylor offers to take Red's son fishing so Red can have some alone time with his wife. Unbeknownst to Bris and Tex, Red has scouted the only private area in all of Utopia, under the barn. Yeeeow!

Anyone ready to see the work they've been doing? Maybe a little less drama and a little more sweat. Apocalypse style formatting is what I had in mind. As Rob put it: "In the Marines we had a saying, 'if you've got time to lean you've got time to clean'. Well, here, if you've got time to chill you've got time to till."

The first Utopia Experience was held and at $20 a head you could call it a success. After art and jewelry sales, tours and Red's hillbilly wine making class their total came to $1483. The first item being purchased with their riches? Bella's water filter. Collective "awwww".

This Friday we meet Ernesto!
