he Voice Season 5: Finalists Perform - Christina & Jacquie

by Jessica Blackwell

Tonight, it was really down to the wire as the contestants gave what could be their last performances on The Voice stage. Just to recap, Cee-lo and Blake were knocked out the competition making it a war between Team Christina and Team Adam. Jacquie is Christina's first artist to get to the finals, and going up against Adam's two remaining artists will be  challenge.

Each contestant performed three songs, their blind audition song, a duet with their coach, and one solo. In addition, the coaches performed "Pour Some Sugar On Me" and the three finalists did "I'll Be There". All of the coaches had a "go big or go home" mentality when choosing the final songs for their artists.

Tessanne

During the blinds, she performed "Try" by Pink and turned all four chairs around. Tonight, she took the stage to sing it again, and it was every bit as amazing as the first time. For her coach duet, she and Adam did The Beatles "Let It Be", a perfect song choice for the two of them. For her final solo performance on the stage, Adam pulled out all the stops and gave her a Whitney Houston song - "I Have Nothing". I love Jacquie, but Tessanne is the only contestant left that could do a Whitney song. Smart move Adam!

Will

Will again took the stage to sing Gavin Degraw's "Not Over You" and I'll admit, I underestimated Will during most of the competition. I predicted Jacquie and Tessanne would make it to the finals, but I never thought Will would make it this far. He showed and proved that hard work pays off. He and Adam performed Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" but they pulled out the big guns for his solo performance. Adam gave him "Everything I Do" by Bryan Adams and he pulled off an emotional song in front of his wife and daughter.

Jacquie

Surprisingly, back in the blinds Jacquie only turned four chairs with her rendition of Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black". Tonight as she performed it again, she got a standing ovation from the crowd! She did a special duet with Coach Christina, performing "We Remain", Christina's contribution to the Catching Fire Soundtrack, a seemingly perfect anthem for what Blake called the " best coach/artist pairing" in the history of The Voice.  Keeping in line with the other coaches Christina gave Jacquie a BIG song for her solo. Jennifer Hudson's "And I'm Telling You" was a very ambitious song but as always, Jacquie more than rose to the occasion. She closed out the show, leaving many with the jaws dropped. Such an amazing talent.

Tomorrow we find out the winner of The Voice Season Five. Will it be the golden voiced Tessanne, the ambitious Will, or Christina's protege Jacquie? Stay tuned to find out!

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8pm EST on NBC.
