Let's see what the fallout is on Survivor after Ciera forced everyone to draw rocks for the second time ever in the show's history, shall we? We begin at Redemption Island and Tina is obviously unhappy to see Katie there, because now she'll have to battle her own daughter for a spot back in the game. Meanwhile, at the Kasama camp, a line is literally drawn in the sand between Tyson, Monica, and Gervase, and Hayden and Ciera.
In the duel, players fashion a long stick to retrieve three keys that will unlock a gate that they must get through in order to move on. Laura M. speeds through the challenge once again, making her the definitive player to beat at Redemption Island. Katie drops a key which makes way for Tina to bypass her. With a longing look before opening the gate, Tina advances and Katie is eliminated for good.
At the immunity challenge, it was a race in the ocean to retrieve puzzle pieces and complete the phrase "You are going to have to dig deep". Jeff Probst uttered one of his best quotes of the season when he yelled out, "Gervase is even beating Ciera and Gervase is no star in the water!" Yes, Ciera was in dead last and trudged up the beach like she just needed a nap - but then, her beautiful mind turned on and she was able to see the words forming in front of her. In an amazing comeback performance, Ciera won immunity and received a meal back at camp, choosing Hayden to enjoy it with her.
With steak, lobster, and burgers on the menu, Hayden stupidly chooses pizza. Pizza?! Carbs?! What are you doing? You fill that belly up with protein to get you through the end of this game.
Hayden and Ciera hatch a plan to make Monica think that Tyson and Gervase have zero appreciation for her and talk trash behind her back. When Ciera delivers the news, it seems to strike a chord, since Monica can't keep the tears from flowing. When you're tired and hungry, it's easy to let that paranoia set in.
At tribal council, the battle for Monica rages on with the newbies arguing she has a better shot with them and the returning players saying they've been nothing but loyal to her the entire game. Tyson boldly chooses to keep the idol stuffed in his underwear, while Hayden becomes the next castaway sent to Redemption Island.
Hayden vs. Laura M? Who's your money on to return to the game?
