After the amazing first round of live shows, ALL of the Top 20 contestants charted on iTunes! That's a great feat for the show.
No one wanted to see any of these great artists go home, but it's inevitable. Tonight, the Top 20 got narrowed down to 12 as the coaches have to say goodbye to two of their team members. On each team, two contestants were saved by America by earning the top number of votes, and then it was up to the coach to choose the remaining team member.
Team Blake
Austin and Cole were saved by America, and Blake had to make the difficult choice between Shelbie Z, Nic, and Ray. He really felt that he could have the most success with Ray, so he chose him. Poor Shelbie and Nic!
Team Cee-lo
America spared Caroline and Jonny, leaving Tamrya, Kat, and Amber left standing. Cee-lo made a surprising choice and picked Kat. It's not that she's not deserving, but Amber's live performance was amazing!
Team Christina
Jacquie Lee and Matthew earned the top number of votes, no surprise there! They had the best performances of the night. Christina was left to choose between Stephanie Ann, Olivia, and Josh. She chose to save Josh, so I guess poor Olivia is going back to her grandma's tax office after all!
Team Adam
With so many great artists to choose from on this team, the voters saved James and Tessanne. This left Adam with the choice between Gray, Preston, and Will. Looking to choose the person who had the most potential, Adam chose Will.
At this point, I feel ready to make a Top 3 prediction. My guess is that Jacquie, Matthew, and Tessanne will be the top 3 left standing. Let's see if I'm right!
Next week, the newly named top 12 performs. Stay tuned!
