This week on The Bachelorette, the all important hometown dates took place. Des jetted off around the country to meet the family's of her four remaining men: Zak, Drew, Chris, and Brooks. Each of the families gave their blessings for their sons to propose, but some dates went just a little better than others. Let's rank them, shall we?
#4 Chris
Chris has been solid from the beginning, sincerely expressing his feelings for Desiree each and every week. Naturally, expectations were high for his hometown date and unfortunately, it definitely fell short of the others. For starters, his chiropractor father gave her an adjustment which was a little strange but it got weirder when he stuck some balloon up Chris's nose. The conversation between Desiree and his mom felt stiff, despite the fact that she got emotional at dinner over welcoming her into the family. Bottom line: it just didn't feel like the others.
#3 Zak
Zak has a love for life that is both undeniable and contagious. He and Des seem more like best friends though, and not soulmates. Try telling him that, though. He and his family are so excited that she's visiting their hometown of Dallas that it all feels a bit too much. His siblings literally serenaded her! Somewhere on that trip, I think Desiree started to realize that her feelings just weren't progressing along as fast. I'm pretty sure it's when he gave her a promise ring.
#2 Brooks
Last week, Desiree told Chris Harrison that she was in love with Brooks. There's just one issue: he hasn't said he felt the same way. Not even after hometown dates. I definitely believe he has feelings for Desiree, but I've never been sold that he's a) there for the right reasons and b) really looking to get married. That being said, his family embraced Desiree as well as perhaps helped him realize that maybe he does love this girl. Would be nice if he told her though...
#1 Drew
Though Drew has shown that he's there for the right reasons all season, he has come across as reserved and even a bit too serious at times. Good looks can only carry you so far and Desiree has developed deep relationships with the other three. When their hometown date arrived, we were introduced to a whole new Drew. He had Desiree meet his sister, who is special needs, he opened up to his parents about how he felt, but most importantly, he was able to tell Desiree he loved her. Please don't break his heart, Des!
At the rose ceremony, Brooks gets the first rose (shocker), followed by Chris and Drew. Zak has a hard time keeping it positive as he comes to grips with the blindside that just took place. She handed him back the ring and sent him on his way. As he tries to process what just happened during his limo ride home, you can't help but feel bad for him. I sure hope Des knows what she's doing...
