Desiree has made it clear this season on The Bachelorette that she wants people who are there for the right reasons. She even rapped about it, that's how serious she is! The guys have taken note and have been working hard to weed out anybody that they feel has ulterior motives. This week's target: James. After last week's group date, Drew and Kasey overheard a "disturbing conversation" that they just can't ignore.
Mikey (who was eliminated last week), frustrated that he hadn't received much one-on-one time, was venting about it to James. The pair agreed that if things didn't work out, they could always party it up on Mikey's boat in Chicago with beautiful, rich women. James also allegedly said that if he made it to Top 4, he'd have a great shot at being The Bachelor. All of this was said off camera so we've got a major case of He Said/He Said on our hands.
After a very romantic and passionate date, and with a rose safely pinned to his shirt, Drew fills Desiree in on the conversation he overheard. Kasey backs it up on the group date during his time with Des, instead of improving his non-existent connection with her. Having no choice but to confront him on it, she sits down with James on the group date to try to get to the bottom of it. He turns on the tears, says it was taken out of context, that she doesn't understand how hard it is (except she does), and that if she doesn't believe him, he should go now. Spoken like a true manipulator.
Desiree was still able to enjoy a fun, sweet one-on-one with Zak before heading back to clear the air with James. She went into the conversation feeling she'd send him home, but he was able to spin it yet again and make her doubt what her gut was telling her. Back with the guys, he wouldn't apologize for anything he said or felt. At the rose ceremony, she ended up deciding it was best to let him go and felt it was time to leave him. Unfortunately, Juan Pablo and Kasey, both great guys, were also sent back to the states.
What do you think of Desiree's decisions tonight?
The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
