Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 5 Episode 5 Rosie

by Jessica Blackwell

After the explosive fight between Teresa and her brother last week, I couldn't wait to hear them share their version of the confrontation with their loved ones.

Joey was still cursing Teresa as he pulled in his driveway, and made a beeline straight for Melissa, who promptly sent little Antonia out of their bedroom so they could talk. When her husband came home frustrated and said he ran into someone at the gym, she thought he ran into Joe Giudice and seemed genuinely surprised that it was Teresa he bumped into. Joey told her the whole story, but unfortunately, his anger wasn't just for his sister. He was pissed that some of Teresa's claims about his wife cyber-bullying her turned out to be true.

Someone asked Meliissa on Twitter if she rented her designer bag, and she responded "One cast member declares bankruptcy and I have to rent my bags" - a low blow. Melissa called it giving Teresa a taste of her own medicine, but Joe called it disrespecting his sister. He seemed really pissed that his wife stooped down to Teresa's level, even mentioning that his parents look at her like she's the devil. Instead of accepting her share of the blame, she insisted that Teresa is only trying to mind f*** him. Hmm... unable to admit wrongdoing, that sounds familiar..Maybe Teresa and Melissa have more in common than I originally thought.

Besides that drama, Melissa had been struggling with her decision to include her father's adulterous ways in the book she' writing. Since it's not only her story to tell, she decided to feel her mother and sisters out to see what they thought about their personal business being out there. It was the right thing to do, but I think she could have been a little more sensitive about it. I mean, she made a comment lamenting that his infidelity makes her the wife that she is and she tries to make her home an incredible environment to her husband so he won't want to stray. Does that mean she thinks her mother was the reason for her Dad's cheating?? Her mother told her to "do what she had to do" but neither she nor Melissa's sister looked pleased about her plans. Hopefully, this won't start up drama in her family.

Teresa rehashed the entire encounter with her brother to her husband at her daughter's indoor soccer practice, of course, blaming everything on Melissa, as always. Joe agreed that Melissa wore the pants in the relationship, commenting that Melissa probably used a strap on to..well, you get the picture. The bottom line is that neither sibling thinks their spouse is ever wrong, and nether spouse considers their partner's brother-sister relationship as a priority. A very messy cycle.

Meanwhile, somewhere else in Jersey, Rich and Kathy were partnering up to sell her desserts nationwide. Sounds like a great idea, but they don't always see eye to eye on the business decisions. Rich commented that he "married a housewife, not an entrepreneur" but he needs to recognize that his wife is the talent behind this operation and give her credit where credit is due. I get that it's hard when the dynamic in a marriage changes, but he better get on board before she smartens up and leaves him! Kathy was genuinely hurt over the situation, pleading with Rich to value her opinion and admitting on camera that, after 21 years of marriage, she had had enough.

Since the confrontation between Teresa and Joe, Caroline has finally decided to stop getting involved in their business, and began worrying about her own. Caroline's kids seem to want to take after their father, and have become workaholics. Since Lauren lost all her weight, she is focusing less on Vito and more on getting CaFace off the ground. Christopher doesn't really want children at all, and Albie is trying to find a girl that will be able to deal with the long hours he puts in selling all that Blk Water. While Caroline is glad she has hard-working kids, she does't want them to miss out on life they way her husband Al did.

Rosie wanted to meet with Teresa to hash some issues out, and after last seasons reunion where Rosie threatened to cut her tongue out, Teresa was understandably apprehensive. She tried to get out of it, but when Rosie assured her they wouldn't fight, despite her fear that Rosie would "stab her 100 times" meet with Rosie she did. Rosie, being who she is, got straight to the point, admitting that every time Teresa's name is mentioned, she gets angry.

When Teresa tried to blame the current drama on Kathy and the comments she made about Teresa's father, Rosie got belligerent and start pounding her first on the table and screaming. Teresa, embarrassed by Rosie's public outburst, tried in vain to calm her, but it wasn't until her smartphone was submerged in a drink that she actuality calmed her down.

After realizing that she let her anger get the best of her, she started acting like human being again, and they were  actually able to end the conversation on a good note. Teresa revealed that she researched a retreat where she and her brother may be able to go deal with some of their issues.

Next week, Teresa invites Joey on that retreat, Melissa is accused of cheating on her husband, and Teresa get caught being two-faced - again! Stay tuned!
