Last night, Team Adam and Team Usher did an amazing job at their first live, solo performances. Tonight, Team Blake and Team Shakira have to not only do their first live, solo performances, but they also have to try and blow last night's performances out of the water. Here's the best performances of the night:
Garrett - Team Shakira
Man these song choices are really great! Last night a few of my favorite songs were performed, and tonight, Garrett made a great choice by singing "Imagine" by John Lennon. Besides it being one of the greatest songs ever written, it really complimented his voice and gave him the opportunity to deliver a passionate, powerful performance. Go Garrett!
Holly - Team Blake
To showcase her huge voice, Blake chose "How Do I Live" by LeAnn Rimes. This song allowed Holly the freedom to show the world that she is a force to be reckoned with! Towards the end, she hit a note that was so long, it gave me chills.
Shakira and Blake
I'm not usually a fan of the group performances given by the teams or coaches, but I had to take note of this one! They sang "Need You Now" by Lady Antelbellum and rocked it! It was amazing to hear Shakira sing a country song.
Karina - Team Shakira
Karina has a lot to live up to after her jaw dropping battle round performance with Judith, and to bring out her soulful side, she sang "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green. I'm used to hearing the strong power of Karina's voice, but tonight she mellowed it out a bit and it sounded amazing.
Danielle - Team Blake
This girl has never performed in front of a group of people prior to the voice, but her talent is so raw and amazing. Blake gave her one of his old favorites, "Maybe It Was Memphis" by Pam Tillis. She says her mother made her audition for The Voice, and she sure made her mama and Blake proud tonight. Blake called her one of the most important artists competing in the competition. All at age 16!
Sasha - Team Shakira
Sometimes I forget about Sasha because her personality isn't quite as a large as some of the other competitors, but every time she steps on stage, I remember. Shakira gave her "Oh Darling" by the Beatles and mannnn she ripped that song! She impressed all the judges, and I'm sure all of America that tuned in.
Voting for tonight's contestants is officially open until tomorrow at 10 a.m EST, so cast your vote to save your favorites! Tomorrow, it's the moment of truth as we find out who America voted for. Stay tuned!
