Corinne Kaplan of Survivor: Caramoan

This week on Survivor, the two tribes merged and Corinne became fed up with Phillip's antics and refusal to listen to others. Rallying the fans and a few rogue favorites, she made a plan to blindside him at tribal council. Unfortunately for her, Dawn was not with her as she had hoped and ran back to Phillip with the plan to oust him. Corinne ended up being blindsided instead and talked to us today about her Caramoan experience in an exclusive interview.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You said this week that you felt much closer to your tribe on Gabon than you did on Caramoan. What was your biggest issue with the returning players this season and do you feel like Phillip tainted the experience for you?
A. Corinne: I had a very hard time playing the game with a tribe of people who think of themselves as the "stars of their season." Their egos were enormous and many of them had pre-existing relationships with each other from their original game. That's what was special about Malcolm. He hadn't yet gotten the fame that comes along with being on TV and he wasn't playing for "camera-time" but rather, for the actual experience. Philip didn't taint the experience. He made it unpleasant, for sure, but I made some great memories out there regardless.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: It was portrayed, in a way, that the only reason you wanted Michael as an ally was because he was gay. What did you see in him as a player that made you feel you could work with him?
A. Corinne: I can't say this enough - Michael is SO much more than a random gay to me. He was very special. He's articulate, smart, hilarious, and a hard worker. I immediately liked him. We had literally tons of inside jokes and spent about 90% of our time together cracking up. He also shared my hatred for Philip which, clearly, is very bonding.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Why do you think Dawn feels safer working with Philip than you?
A. Corinne: Dawn is a cowardly player in that she feels like she could easily beat Philip and she doesn't want any kind of a challenge at the end. I assure you, she could beat me too but in that way, he is a safer bet.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: You looked truly surprised to have been voted out. Was that a legitimate blindside?
A. Corinne: I knew something was wrong at tribal. I just thought the worst case scenario would be that it was a 6-6 tie. I was surprised that Erik flipped although, honestly I didn't have much faith in him in the first place.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: By getting rid of you, they got rid of a strategic player that was looking to make moves. Sherri was the easy vote instead, but if you're looking at it objectively, who should the tribe really have gotten rid of out of everyone still playing?
A. Corinne: If the tribe operated as I do, which is to play with people who I genuinely like and want to create memories with, they should have taken out Philip. He made everyone VERY uncomfortable and was a constant pain in the ass. There's no reason you have to live 39 days with a person like that. I do think if it is me versus Sherri, yes I am much more intimidating. But, really if you're asking if it's me versus everyone left, Philip should have gone home just for some peace at camp.
