Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 5 Episode 12 Phaedra and Apollo

by Jessica Blackwell

Kenya's really gone and done it now! Since she came on the show this season, she's been stirring up bucket loads of drama almost from day one, but this episode, she topped all her previous antics. Since her involvement in Phaedra and Apollo's Donkey Booty Workout Tape didn't pan out, she's decided to produce her own copy cat tape, called the Stallion Booty Workout Tape. Here's how it all went down:

Cynthia made an appearance at the fabulous Bronner Brother's Hair Show, and shouted out Kenya, who was in the audience. They seem to be getting along better since they bonded over Phaedra's lack of business sense, but I can't believe that Cynthia forgot that quickly how crazy Kenya acted at her agency casting call that day. Acting like BFF's, they met up after Cynthia was done, and during a conversation among others, Kenya dropped the bombshell that she was going to bite off Phaedra's idea. She even had the nerve to insult Phaedra's body, indicating that she was less than fit since giving birth to her son. Let's be serious, if Kenya could find someone to marry and impregnate her, she would trade that Stallion Booty in for stretch marks and saggy boobies any day. She's just hating because Phaedra has all the things she wants -  a baby and a husband.

Kenya spoke in front of the wrong person, because the first chance he got, Derek J spilled the beans to Kandi during her hair appointment. Once he told her Kenya's plans, she jumped right on the horn and called Phaedra, who couldn't believe that Kenya would stoop so low. Hell, I can't believe it. Her exact words, which I loved, were "I knew Miss Kenya was thirsty, but I didn't know she was starving!" Love it!!

Kandi wanted to decorate Riley's room in a creative way, so Kenya hooked her up with a production designer to nab some trendy material. While they were there, Kandi kept it real with Kenya and let her know that she was copy catting off Phaedra. Kenya stood her ground and swore up and down that the decision to make her tape was about business. When Kandi got real with her, Kenya said her feelings were hurt over the whole situation, and she acted like she was really wounded. Please!

Porsha was feeling vindicated as Phaedra and Kenya's relationship fell apart because she felt like Phaedra didn't give her a fair shot at friendship because toxic Kenya was involved in the mix. Slightly gloating, Porsha welcomed Phaedra into her fold, after reminding her how she took up for Kenya when they were beefing. Now that Kenya is out of the picture, they were able to have a nice lunch and bond over the topic of children. Maybe a real friendship will come out of it.

Phaedra and Apollo kept on trucking with their version of the Booty tape and met with Jane Fonda's production company who agreed to work with them after hearing Phaedra's eloquent description of the Donkey Booty story. That's one thing that Phaedra's tape has that Kenya's doesn't: passion. Phaedra struggled with her weight after her son and started working out with her husband and that's how the idea was born. Kenya's idea however, is just a bootleg off an original.

NeNe took a break from shooting the New Normal, and returned to the A to spend time with her glambaby, Bri'Asia - who is adorable! Forget the donkey or the stallion, lil mama stole the show this week! Since NeNe was in town, she got to witness all the drama.

Cynthia decided to coordinate a celebrity kids fashion show, which featured little Ayden. After putting her heart and soul into getting all the kids ready, it was finally time for her to unveil her hard work. All the ladies attended the show, and Kenya was not happy to see the new bond between Phaedra and Porsha. Feeling slighted, Kenya used the fashion show as an opportunity to tell everyone about her Stallion Workout (she dropped the booty part of the title about hallway through the episode, most likely because Kandi said she was bootlegging). Miss Southern Belle Phaedra sashayed over to the group to find out what was going on, and Kenya told her of her plans to do her own workout tape.

As soon as the confrontation began, you could tell NeNe was loving the drama. She claimed to be all love and light this season, and less about drama, but it seems she meant she has no problem stirring the drama pot as long as it wasn't about her. Seriously, if you go back and rewind to the faces she was making, it was downright scary.

Phaedra took the high road and told Kenya how she felt and added the classy insult "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery". With that remark from Phaedra, Kenya twirled and she was gone! It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the episodes ahead. Although I think Kenya is DEAD wrong for taking an idea that was pitched to her by a friend, I must admit, a Stallion is a better moniker for a workout tape than a donkey. I think Phaedra's nickname for her booty is cute, but it's just bad marketing. No female wants to look like a donkey.
