The blue team on The Biggest Loser Challenge America

by Gina Scarpa

In Week 3, the contestants of The Biggest Loser meet up with Alison in a room full of temptations. After competing in a trivia challenge about child obesity, the blue team proved that they need to learn a little bit more about health and nutrition. As if coming in last wasn't bad enough, their punishment is that they'll be locked in a room full of junk food for 4.5 hours a day, every day this week. I was fully expecting Bob to freak but he kept his emotions in check, despite the fact that they can't even work out in there!

After a workout with Dolvett, Francelina can't help but watch Jillian work out her white team and is invited over. She not only exercises with Danni and Pam, but participates in their talk with Jillian at the end. It seems like perhaps someone is thinking of changing shirt colors. Over at the junk food room, the blue team is finally released to Bob and their workout feels ten times harder than usual. After being stationary for so long, it's really tough for them to get moving.

At the challenge, each team has a giant gumball machine and, one at a time, they must take a gumball and make their way through a pit of bubble gum. The winning team (that gets 20 gumballs across) will receive groceries for a year, which is totally worth crawling through that gross, sticky gum! Jackson definitely had it right when he said that they looked like the Swamp Thing and this thing is way harder and more exhausting than it initially seems. The blue team came close, but it was red who emerged victorious.

During the last chance workout, Pam seems like she's staring to make some major breakthroughs but can't help but break down and start crying again. Every time she takes a step forward, she takes three steps back. She loves being a victim or a failure - can you blame Jillian for losing her mind? While Dolvett works his red team like the machines that they are (and damn impressive at that), Bob decides he wants to do his workout with the blue team in the junk food room. As if they haven't been in there enough!

The yellow line finally makes an appearance at the weigh-in, but if Danni and Pam lose, whoever had the lowest percentage of weight loss will automatically be eliminated. Here's how the numbers went down...

Blue Team
Jeff: -11

Alex: -4

David: -6

Michael: -13

Gina: -8

TOTAL: -42 (2.81%)

Red Team
Francelina: -5

Joe: -9

Jackson: -2

Cate: -2

Lisa: -2

TOTAL: -20 (1.52%)

White Team

Danni:-6

Pam:-9

TOTAL: -15 (3.31%)

After dominating the first two weigh-ins, the red team struggled quite a bit this week and it's not clear what is holding them back. Don't worry, Dolvett will get to the bottom of it!  Before he can though, the red team has to vote someone out and instead of saying outright who they're sending home, they're sent into a room to make their decision.  It seemed like a cool twist, to have the votes be secret this season, but Alison ends up revealing who everyone voted for anyway.  When all is said and done, it's Cate who leaves the ranch.

I'll leave you with this. Could anyone else have done without Pam's over the top celebration after being the Biggest Loser of the week?
