Survivor: Philippines

Just because it's cold at night or rains uncontrollably in the game of Survivor doesn't mean you should climb on top of the best looking tribemate you can find for warmth and comfort. Excuses, excuses... at Matsing's camp, Roxy can't help but notice that Malcolm and Angie are cozying up, not just at night, but every chance they get. They seem like they're getting closer with each passing day and a couple in the game is a dangerous thing.

Lisa is not having an easier time fitting in over at Tandang and keeps going off by herself to cry because she feels like she doesn't fit in and can't open up. I understand that she may be shy and that she was more comfortable playing a character on tv, but I've seen her on talk shows and in interviews. She can come out of her shell a little bit more and try to connect with the others. Her tribemates are under the impression that she keeps taking off in order to look for the idol, but that is the furthest thing from her mind right now. Meanwhile, RC and Abi-Maria made a deal to go to the end together but that's before they realized they don't fully trust each other. Yeah, they probably should've thought that one through before making promises.

The same cannot be said, however, for Jonathan Penner of the Kalabaw tribe. He is frantically searching for the idol every chance he gets. When the tribe reaches their breaking point with the rain and heads for a cave, Penner finally gets some time alone in the camp. He figures out that the idol is the little plaque on top of the container of rice and snatches it for himself. Isn't anyone going to notice that it's missing?

In this immunity/reward challenge, players (two at a time) drag a sled across the beach and return with puzzle pieces. This is apparently a lot more difficult than it seems, perhaps because of the lack of sleep and food but some people are on the brink of collapse after just one run out! Tandang gets off to a strong start, once again, thanks to Michael and Pete. Kalabaw was hot on their trail, with Matsing flailing around as usual. Things get close during the puzzle round, but Tandang pulls off the win, taking home blankets, pillows, and a tarp back to their camp. As the runner up, Kalabaw gets a tarp (better than nothing!), and Matsing comes in last again, which sends Russell over the edge.

Back at camp, he apologizes for losing his cool when he realized that they had lost their second challenge in a row. No need for damage control, Swan. You got Angie in one corner, who doesn't trust or like Roxy and you have Roxy in the other, trying to break up the showmance of the season. Caught in the middle is Denise, who justifies siding with Malcolm by saying that she doesn't like how religious Roxy is. Why not just say that you're siding with Malcolm and that's it?

At tribal, Jeff asks some of the players what they would change about the tribe and Angie says... I swear to God... "Cookies?" COOKIES!?!!! How does her tribe not vote her out just based on that? I'll tell you why. Because Angie is terrible at the game. Someone who is terrible at the game is no threat at all so it's a lot smarter to keep her around. Now, will they still think it's smart if they continue to lose challenges? Probably not, but Roxy wasn't exactly killin' herself around camp and in competitions either. Since Angie doesn't make waves, she gets to stay while Roxy's torch was snuffed.
