The X Factor Season 2

by Todd Betzold

We are back for more auditions on The X Factor and it is time to see what else Britney Spears says during her critiques. It seems like it has been all about Britney for Season 2, but anyone else loving Demi Lovato a little bit more than Britney as a judge?

The auditions kick off in Kansas City, MO, tonight on X Factor and our first look is at CeCe Frey, a 20-year-old mail clerk. Then we get to look at the judges, minus Simon Cowell, who is apparently out sick, so some Louis Walsh guy is filling in for him. The crowd finds out Simon won't be there and they go crazy. Louis is a manager of boy bands and friends with Simon. It is L.A. Reid's birthday, so Britney and Demi plan to get him a cake and sing Happy Birthday to him.

Rizzloe Jones gets his camera time. He is an ADD rapper, so this should be interesting. He is cute though. He said he is going to freestyle onstage, which CeCe thinks is crazy and trying to mess with her competition. Rizzloe is ready for the ladies in the audience and on TV to see him. He hits the stage and said he has the X Factor and he knew he had it when he learned the ABCs and got to ‘X.' L.A. gives him "The X Factor" for him to work with and not gonna lie, he does a good job and is entertaining and can rap! L.A. said he liked his flow and admires how brave he is to stand up there and do that and it was really good. Britney said he was like a young Vanilla Ice Ice Baby. Demi said he surprised him and she was so impressed and it is four yeses from the judges. He comes back to celebrate and CeCe rolls her eyes.

Meanwhile, CeCe continues to try and push the buttons of everyone to mess with their minds, even though it didn't seem to work with Rizzloe. She is done messing and it is time for her to hit the stage. She is funny and entertaining and makes me kind of want to like her and L.A. said he hopes she is good. She starts out singing "Unchained Melody" and it is lame and boring. The judges cut her off and want to see something else, so she sings "Ain't No Other Man" and absolutely knocks it out of the park. She is great and I hate to admit that. Louis said he loves ambitious people with talent. Britney said she has the whole package. L.A. said that he loves she has attitude and style. It is four yeses from the judges and a girl crush for Demi!

The judges enjoy some cake and song for L.A.'s birthday before we get back to the auditions. The next singer is Vino Alan, who is a 39-year-old musician, and people have said he has not talked to anyone all day and hope he is fine onstage. He is not talking because he is focused and doing this for his 15-year-old son...I hope this is a good one! He has tattoos all on his head, which he had covered with his hat but the judges make him take it off. Britney is freaked out by it, but Demi loves it and thinks it is sick. He has a lot of emotion in his voice and does a very good job. I am enjoying him and has good tone. L.A. was prepared not to like it at all, but he did hear something unique in his voice. Louis said he thinks he has something interesting. Demi said it inspired her and something unique about his voice she hasn't heard yet in the competition. It is four yes votes for Vino.

And we have our queen of the night: DeAngelo Wallace, a 19-year-old student, who says he can sing Britney's songs better than her and would tell that to her face if given the chance. He talks smack about all the judges, but said he won't to their faces. This is another person I want to slap right through the TV! He hits the stage and Britney seems annoyed already. The judges said he is digging himself a hole and he starts singing and he looks to the side of the stage to sing and it is horrendous. The judges walk out in the middle of his song and he stops for a moment, but then continues and doesn't know half the words. Now it got interesting, as he stole the mic when he left. They hunt him down and he gets arrested and charged with a misdemeanor and released a few hours later. I guess he got the camera time he wanted!

Time for some country, as Tate Stevens takes the stage. He is 37 years old and he is nervous being the only one there wearing a country hat. He comes out on stage and he tells them he sings rap lol. He said he would throw a big ass party and everyone is invited, but really ask his wife because she would take the money. He is very funny and I like his personality and I hope he does well. He does great and I love his voice. He is pure country and has such a good sound to his voice and he could be on the radio tomorrow! Louis said we found ourselves a country star. Britney said he is her favorite so far and she loves him. L.A. said he is mad at him for waiting so long to do his thing. Tate gets four yeses and bring on my tears!

Back to San Francisco and Simon is back at the table! We also get a first look at Caleb Bigler, a 16-year-old student, and Citizen, a 21-25 year old group, as they arrive to the stadium. Citizen is all in the bathroom, as all five guys try to make themselves pretty for the stage. Patrick thinks he is the heartthrob, so he is feeling the need to be perfect on the stage. They are too cocky, so this is one I hope they are terrible! I think they have some strong singers in the group, but as a whole they are not very good. They don't seem to be together and I am annoyed by them. L.A. said great song choice and he really liked it. Britney said they totally rocked up there. Demi said she loved the harmonies. Simon said he didn't get it and it was ten years outdated and he says no (I am totally with Simon on this one)! The other judges say yes, so they get to go through.

Simon is back and he is in full-force, as we take a look at some of his harsh comments to the singers. I love this man, even if he can come off as an ass! Up next is Adrianna Lemus, who is a 14-year-old student. She is cute and is going to take on an Adele song, which Simon hates. She unfortunately is not good and Simon tells her she shouldn't have sung that song today. He says he can't have any more Adele songs.

Now it is time for another youngster, as Diamond White, who is 13 years old, is up next. Her Mom supports her in everything, but her Dad doesn't associate with her. She is cute and she sounds so much older than her age states and is quite good. L.A. said her mother got it right and she is a diamond. Demi said she has a sparkle in her eye that grabs their attention. Simon said you just blew the roof off of it and it was incredible. Four yeses from the judges and Simon said he is now happy.

We now get a look at some auditions from Austin, TX. Ally Brooke, is a 19 year old student, and she is excited for Simon and L.A. to give her critiques. She wants to do it all and wants to be as big as Beyonce. She is very cute and has a very soft-spoken voice when singing. She needs to bring it from the gut and let us hear her, but she is good from what she is showing. The song ended, but she continued to sing and sing and sing and sing. Simon cuts her off again, but that doesn't seem to stop her. L.A. said he is impressed by her. Demi said her voice blew her away. Britney said she should be on Broadway. Simon said he has a feeling we are looking at a future star. Of course, four yeses for her.

Now a look at Brandon Hassan, a 16-year-old student, as he gets a quick yes from the judges and then Normani Hamilton, a 15-year-old student, who also gets a quick yes from the judges. Then it is Sister C, a 17-21 year old group, and they get a quick yes as well. Next are Jeremiah and Josh, 22-year-old twins that sing together, and this is the one that Britney wants them to wake her up in the morning to which Demi replies, a-oh. I love Demi's laugh and of course they get a yes.

Apparently there is some hot, muggy weather in Austin and we get a look at Panda Ross, a 42 year old barista. She is a whole lot of woman and she said that Simon is her baby daddy and she has a necklace with "Single" on it. She was in the hospital with pneumonia yesterday, but she busted out of there to sing for Simon...ugh. She is over-the-top, but I am liking her as it goes on. I want a piece of Panda Pie. She has a very deep voice and it isn't as bad as I thought it would be and I am hoping they send her through just to make her one happy lady! She has a huge personality and I love this woman, which just goes to show don't judge a book by its cover....say yes judges! L.A. said he can't deny how good that was and she moved the room. Demi said she is such a character and her voice is so soulful. Britney said she is very charming and witty and she was completely entertained. Simon said she sounds like a legend and he loves her and he always wanted a panda. It is four yeses for her and she is ecstatic. She overdid herself and the medics have to be called and she goes out in an ambulance, but with four yes votes!

Since Demi hugged Panda, Simon now thinks that Demi is infected and needs to be quarantined. Demi said that Simon is just gross (love her)! The last singer of the night is Jessica Espinoza, who is 22 and unemployed. She has had a rough life and not had much growing up and she said everything that ever hurt her in her life comes out on stage. I think she is going to be amazing. She starts out shaky, but you can feel the emotion in her voice. She kicks it in and starts working the stage and I enjoy her. Pink has such emotional songs and Jessica nailed it. L.A. said that she is really special. Britney said she has such a strong voice and she loves it. Demi said she really believes she is amazing. Simon said he loved it and he loves everything about her and his favorite audition of the day by far. She gets four yeses and is moving on!
