The Voice Season 3

Does anyone else think that three nights in a row of The Voice is nice, but a little bit too much? I love this show, but don't overwhelm me with it all. The Voice added a third night for its premiere week, but only so they could compete against the premiere of The X Factor tonight! Which one did you watch?

Heading into night three of The Voice, we have Team Blake and Team Christina with four singers, Team Cee Lo with three singers and Team Adam with two singers, so it is time for Adam to score some singers tonight!

The first singer of the night is Samuel Mouton, 19 from Fort Collins, CO. He grew up watching his Dad in his band and his uncle actually signed him up for this. They played a lot of Bob Marley growing up and that is the style of music he wants to do. So, his voice is completely different than what he looks like and he gets Adam to turn around right away. Cee Lo and Christina join him a little later. Christina said that made her feel good and relaxed her. Cee Lo said he sounded like he adopted Bob Marley as his own and it becomes you. Adam said you impacted us and made us feel special and he wants him. In no big shocker, he picks Team Adam.

The next singer is Chris Trousdale, 26 from Big Rapids, MI. He is a former boy band member, who was part of the group Dream Street with Jesse McCartney. He now works at a sushi restaurant, so he is trying to get back into the business. I think he has a really good voice and he knows how to work the stage and has some real good dance moves, but none of the judges turn around for him. He gets Blake up to do the moonwalk. Adam said he sounds like a dancer who likes to sing and he has to learn to nail those notes.

Up next is Nelly's Echo, who is 32 and was born in Nigeria. He arrived in America with his Mom and three brothers with only two suitcases and music was something that got them through it all. He sings "Ain't No Sunshine" and I am liking his vibe. He sounds pretty good and he has the bald, black man thing going on for him, which helped for the first two season's winners. Christina and Adam turn around for him. Christina said she had so much fun listening to him right off the bat and his story is so meaningful. Adam said they are looking for something different and he is a fan of what he does already. He goes with Christina, since she turned her chair first and another addition for Team Christina.

The next act of the night (and our first duet of the season) is 2Steel Girls from Wellston, OH. They are a Mom and daughter duo, but also part of a family band with the son playing guitar and Dad playing drums. They said they have played some good places, but for free and it has been a struggle to make money. The Mom quit her job so she could come to The Voice, so this is huge for them. It starts a little rough for me, but then they get it going good and the judges agree as Blake and Cee Lo turn their chairs around. Cee Lo said it sounded so good and he was moved by it and they both equally sounded good. Blake said he wanted to be the guy that protects the mother-daughter relationship in this savage world of music. They discuss and decide to go with Team Blake, of course.

Not only did Cee Lo lose out on 2Steel Girls, but we then get a quick look at some other artists that decided Cee Lo wasn't a good choice for them. Lisa Scinta went with Team Christina, Marissaann goes again with Team Christina and then he loses Loren Allred to Team Adam. And then we get a look at that damn cockatoo again on Cee Lo's shoulder!

Domo, who is a professional hip hop dancer, is 26 from Bronx, NY. She is very confident and said she is the Lady Gaga of China. She

wants to be known as a signer and not as a dancer. She sings "Don't Cha" and puts a twist on it and I enjoyed it. She started real strong and kind of tailed off at the end for me, but she got Cee Lo to turn around and she has a team. Adam said that Cee Lo is currently in heat. Cee Lo said he is not looking just at the surface, but she had choreography and he believes that she is better than that song allowed her to be.

The last singer of the night is Nicole Nelson, 35 from Burlington, VT. She didn't think she could sing professionally and went to an open mic and people loved her. She feels validated as a singer, but it is hard to make money. She sings a great song and has such a powerful voice and the judges loved her, as all four of them turned around. Christina said that was wonderful and she had a great voice. Adam said as she was singing it it just kept getting better. Cee Lo said it was a beautiful performance. She said she was coming out wanting Blake, but she goes with Adam and another singer for Team Adam.

After three nights of Blind Auditions, we have Team Christina with seven acts, Team Adam and Team Blake with five acts and Team Cee Lo with four acts.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
