Big Brother 14

When Big Brother says "Expect the unexpected," they ain't kidding. Last night's episode will go down as one of the greatest in the show's history, with one player solidifying himself as one of the greatest houseguests of all time. Things started off as we all were thinking this episode would play out - Frank was gunning 100% for Dan and had every intention of winning the POV to keep nominations the same and get him out of the house once and for all. Even if Frank wins though, there's still hope for Dan, with Ian holding a second veto to play this week.

This week's POV competition is sponsored by the app Draw Something. Oh, how I miss that game. I've been bombarded with Song Pop requests for weeks now and I just can't turn down the opportunity to play Name That Tune! Players have to be the first to buzz in and guess the correct drawing, submitted by fans, but each answer is a clue to a punishment. Players will have to take that punishment in order to win the points. Joe wasn't picked, Ian hosted, and everyone else is ready to go!

One of the rules of the game state that you can't help a fellow player so when Britney buzzes in at the end but doesn't know the answer, Frank tries to toss her a bone but ends up getting tossed out of the game. He was in the lead and bathed in avocado nastiness, has to take a chum bath every time an alarm sounds for the next 24 hours, dresses up like a carrot for 24 hours, AND agrees to sit out of the next HOH competition that he's eligible for. All that and it gets thrown away over whispering "summer" to a girl he just started trying to work with. With Dan now in the lead, all he has to do is answer the last question correctly to win, but it's Jenn who figures out the word "ticket", agrees to be on slop for the rest of the summer (slop ticket), and wins the POV.

Dan's punishment was to sit in a party room for 24 hours, with disco lights and loud music playing. That seems awful, especially given that he's in even bigger trouble now, but he's grateful for the time to figure out a last ditch plan. When he emerges the following day, he appears dazed and confused and stumbles to lie down in the arcade room. Once he feels better, he calls a house meeting to hold "Dan's Big Brother Funeral". As he went around the room saying nice things to everyone, the tears started flowing, even from Shane! When he gets to Frank, he tells him that he wants to apologize and read him something from the bible afterwards, then turns to Daniele and tells her she's dead to him and not talk to him anymore. Wait whaaat?!

Of course, she breaks down into hysteria while Dan heads upstairs with Frank. Everyone knows that it was a cheap, selfish move to make her look bad and they're even more gung ho about getting him out. Meanwhile, Dan doesn't want to read from the bible, he wants to swear on it. He tells Frank everything he's needed to know for the last few weeks, especially that Ian was behind Boogie and Ashley's ousting. Next, he turns on Britney, saying she's one of the most protected players in the house and asks Frank to get Jenn to use the POV on him so that they can backdoor Brit. Afterwards, he apologizes to Danielle and fills her in on the plan. A new alliance is formed - Frank, Dan, Jenn, and Danielle - and this veto ceremony is about to get cray cray.

After Frank talks to Jenn, who has FINALLY decided to start playing this game, we head to the veto ceremony. Ian's up first and decides not to use his power of veto, but Jenn shocks the house by taking down Dan. Frank makes a little speech to Ian about how he can't put him up so he'll go for the next best thing. Ian shakes his head in horror while Frank names Britney as the replacement nominee and says to him, "In the words of a not so wise man, pop a squat." Ooh, maybe we'll get to see Bruce Banner turn into the Hulk because Ian looks devastated. That's nothing compared to the reaction from poor Britney, who was blindsided by the people she trusted both times she played the game. Dan, you are a dirty player.
