Big Brother 14: Week 5 Power of Veto Recap

Big Brother 14

Good ol' Joe is still stomping around the Big Brother house and yelling into the diary room cameras that he promises you, America, that he'll be staying in the house. I'm pretty sure America is okay with him walking out the door on Thursday's live eviction. He blows a lot of hot air and never backs it up - not with an alliance, not with a strategic move, not with a competition win... maybe he'll win POV tonight and shut everybody up.

In a way, it does make sense to keep Joe around and Boogie knows it. Joe has nobody in the game so if he's saved from elimination, he'll owe him his loyalty and his vote for at least a week or two. Boogie and Frank are much more threatened by Wil and his cocky attitude. I still don't get what he actually did. I thought the more alarming thing was that he said, out loud to them, that he felt a big group of people were working together. If he's on to them, he needs to go.

Right before the Power of Veto competition, our beloved Zingbot 3000 shows up in the house. He definitely dealt out a few zings, from knocking Shane's tank top to Britney's stupidity over trusting The Brigade in season 12 to taking a shot at Jenn's tattoos. His worst was when he told Danielle that Shane was going to get her a restraining order as a gift. I have to admit that it was pretty hilarious to watch her hold back the rage and not kick that oversized trash can right in the face.

In order to win the POV, players had to connect a series of tubes, then move a ball through it in order to create/release a baby Zingbot. You may remember that last season, there was a POV competition to help the Zingbot find a mate. Seems those two have been pretty busy together since! Joe chose Ashley to play (selfish, she's hurt!), and Boogie and Shane were picked to play as well. Ian tried to help Shane from the sidelines, while Britney barked out orders to Shane, but it was HOH Frank who won and now, can keep his nominations the same or make a big move.

Wil meets with Ashley and Jenn to figure out a game plan and the three agree to give Frank the votes to backdoor Dan, if he'll actually do it. Wil and Ashley head up to the HOH room to bring up the idea to Frank, while Jenn hangs back. And here I thought she was actually going to start to PLAY THIS GAME! The idea of backdooring Dan is definitely enticing to Frank, and its one he's been thinking about for a while but Boogie is still not in favor with it. Sure, Frank knows that Dan probably wants him out so he and Boogie can work together but Boogie does make a good point. If they turn on the Silent Six and it doesn't go in their favor, every player will be gunning for them.

Though I don't want Dan to go up on the block, I have a better plan for Wil. Get Frank to put Dan on the block, which will piss off the alliance he feels is working together. Then, vote to keep Dan so that he (and everyone else) goes guns a-blazing for Frank and Boogie. It's dirty but come on. It's a good move, right?

Frank decides, once again, to listen to Boogie and keeps the nominations the same. Now, I just have to hope the houseguests send Joe packing. I can't listen to him bellow any longer and Wil provides me with entertainment each week!

Find out which houseguest will be evicted on Big Brother, Thursday at 9/8c on CBS.
