The Real World: St. Thomas

by Gina Scarpa

Things are just a little bit tense in The Real World house this week and it starts with Marie giving Robb the cold shoulder. She's convinced that she's getting played, considering that he keeps talking to his girl Emily back home and then cuddling up with her at night. It's probably best to distance yourself now so you don't get hurt later but Robb can't understand what the problem is. The two finally talk it out and he admits that if he knew, in advance, what he'd have with her, he never would have asked Emily to come.

Laura finally decides that she doesn't have to be Trey's servant and heads out to the clubs, where she meets a nice (and nice looking) guy who gives her his phone number. When he finds out, Trey ignores her and treats her worse than usual. Oh okay, so it's fine that he talks to Chelsea back home but she's not allowed to go anywhere or talk to anyone? How is this fair?

Marie shifts her anger and annoyance at Swift. I'm not sure when she started getting fed up with him but she can't help but find him to be arrogant and a showoff. When the roommates discuss the Trey/Laura saga, a drunk Laura calls Swift a loser, who responds by shouting that Laura is ten times better than her. Instead of telling her to calm down, Robb tells Swift to lower his voice and basically drop the conversation. Because Marie and Swift have to live and work together, they end up talking things out... sort of. Basically, they're going to continue to clash and that's all there is to it.

Robb decides that it's not a good idea that Emily come out to St. Thomas (smart guy) so he calls her and tells her that it's best that she stay home. Yet, when he explains things to Marie, he cites the only reason for telling her not to come as being that she hooked up with someone while he was away. Well then in this case, Marie will still be bringing Max to visit. Take that!

When the roommates head out for another night at the clubs, Laura happens to run into the same guy she had met earlier. Trey shows up and Laura makes the mistake of pointing the guy out to him. That sets him off and he screams at her the entire night about lying to him. Instead of standing up for herself, Laura just begs Trey to tell her whether or not they're together. Why is the decision completely on him? Is this the guy she really wants to spend all of her time with while experiencing The Real World?

The fans definitely have strong feelings when it comes to Laura's relationship with Trey. What do you think? Should Laura stand up for herself or are these made for each other?
