Janelle Pierzina from Big Brother 14

by Gina Scarpa

When America decided that the coaches should be given the opportunity to get into the Big Brother game as players, no one enthusiastically hit the reset button like Janelle as she exclaimed "Thanks America!" In that moment, she had no idea she was about to become the number one target to get out of the house. Orchestrated largely by Mike Boogie, Janelle found herself backdoored and eliminated on last night's live eviction episode. Today, she talked to RealityWanted and reporters in a press conference call about what went wrong and the experience of playing Big Brother for a third (and final?) time.

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Last night, Julie Chen said the rivalry between you and Boogie was one of the best in Big Brother history, which is true. How do you feel about him outside of the game?
A. Janelle: Even after All Stars, I kept in touch with Boogie. He's not the nicest guy. He doesn't have a lot of female friends. Will I keep in contact now? Probably not. He made this season extremely personal.

Q. I assume you know that Joe was the only person who voted to evict Frank. Were you surprised by the votes?
A. Janelle: I assumed so! I've been sequestered. I didn't have any information. I knew I was going home for sure. I knew a deal had been made and the fix was in to get me backdoored. I thought Ashley would have thrown me a vote. What the heck was she thinking? Same with Wil. If something was going on in the house, why would they not keep me?

Q. It seemed like Boogie was orchestrating your demise, when it was really Britney. She's a master manipulator. She just ran with the idea of getting rid of you, and Boogie and Dan loved the idea. Did you see that?
A. Janelle: I mean, yeah. That's what really hurts me. I love Britney. She's so nice. We stuck together all the time in the house. There were definite signs this week that she was lying. I knew she was probably doing something to get me out of the house. I do like her as a person but I feel like she didn't like that I was such a fan favorite, and would use that against me in the game. Clearly, she had a vendetta for me.

Q. There's a really interesting conversation you had with Britney about emotions. What is the real Janelle like?
A. Janelle: I think Britney was just trying to size me up as a player, it wasn't so much me as a person. I do try to play Big Brother without emotion as much as I can. I think she was surprised that I wasn't so emotional and she saw that as a threat.

Q. Britney seemed upset to get rid of you. I don't know if she masterminded the whole thing. To me, it seemed more Dan. Aren't you mad at Dan?
A. Janelle: He definitely gave me a heads up several times that I was leaving. He's the only person that told me that. I already knew but for him to tell me, I really appreciated that.

Q. Dan wanted an alliance with the coaches. Were you on board with that?
A. Janelle: I had been telling Dan sine week one or two that if I went in the game, I'd go with one of my players and go with him and one of his players. I had been talking to Dan and working on it. I think I had been gaining some trust with Dan. The problem was that I'm incredibly loyal and as much as I knew it was a good move, I wasn't willing to go after my players or nominate them. I wasn't willing to turn on them.

Q. What would you have done differently the first three weeks if you knew you'd be part of the game?
A. Janelle: I did have a pretty good idea I'd come into the game. I wouldn't have changed anything. The problem was that this week, I couldn't get power. I didn't play in the Veto. Since week one, I had been planning on working with Britney or Dan later in the game and I was trying to keep as many of my players as I could in the game, for many reasons.

Q. The last comment Boogie made about doing that for Will and Erin... Boogie feels you forced Will into a showmance during season 7. What do you think about that?
A. Janelle: I definitely did not force Dr. Will into a showmance. Clearly, this is a personal attack on me. He is and was in love with Dr. Will in season 7 and to this day, he probably still is. He thinks I stole Will from him in season 7and I kind of did.

Q. Players use "This is a game" to try to get people to forgive their behavior. Do you forgive people?
A. Janelle: I think Wil and Ashley... I forgive them because they're new at this game and easily manipulated. Everyone else swore on everything that they were going to keep me. It's like, "Why would you do that? Just tell me you're going to do it." This season, it's all about these lies.
