Things hit the fan last week on Project Runway, as we saw that Andrea packed her things up and walked out in the middle of the night after the last challenge! Tonight we find out more details and the pressure seems to be enough to send another designer home. This is going to be a good one tonight!

 

We start this week with Christopher worried about seeing Andrea today because of what he said on the runway. Kooan wakes up sick the next morning and is not feeling well at all. The designers head over to Michael Kors store to find out the next challenge. Tim Gunn and Michael are there, but before they find out the challenge Tim announces that Andrea had left in the middle of the night and they have tried to reach out to her, but no contact. She is screwed as a designer and Michael said this is a tough industry and fashion is not for sissies!

 

For the challenge tonight, the designers have to create a look for a woman on the go. They must create a single look that is stylish and fashionable, but at the same time it has versatility, it's practical and comfortable. They said this one has to last throughout the whole day, but it has to be their own aesthetic. They have one day for the challenge and a budget of $150.

 

The designers get 30 minutes to sketch in Michael Kors store and of course they get to chatting about Andrea leaving. For once, I agree with Gunnar. He calls her a coward for leaving and I so cannot argue with that one. Tim tells them to come up with a story for their client and how they will go throughout the day to help them come up with a design.

 

They head to Mood to do some shopping and Dmitry is struggling with finding his fabric. Buffi keeps going back to pink, even though she tries to avoid it. Kooan is being quiet and distant and he says he has a lot to think about! They head to the workroom and Christopher wants to know what happened with Andrea...get over queen! He feels this is his fault and he feels awful. This is a competition, suck it up. You are going to take them out some way or another, so be glad she is gone. You are one step closer to winning it all.

 

Kooan interrupts everyone and says that he is weird and quirky, but he has been thinking about this for three days and...commercial break! Damn you Lifetime! Project Runway comes back and Kooan says that he wants to leave. Christopher and Buffi try to talk him out of it, but he is ready to go home. Nathan than starts crying and says he wants to go home as well, but he won't. Tim then comes in and gathers everyone. He said that Andrea emailed them and said she is fine and is leaving the show. Now Kooan said he is leaving because he wants to do fashion in his own way.

 

Needless to say, the mood in the workroom is somber. Everyone is crying and everyone is upset, so this should be interesting to see how they pull it together for this challenge. Well, as a shock to even me, to keep the competition fair they bring back Raul! Let's see if he takes advantage of this opportunity. I loved him in the conference call last week with him, so let's make it work Raul!

 

The designers get to work and Tim comes in to critique what they have done. For Dmitry, Tim is impressed that it is done with a single seam. He thinks Sonjia is looking very good. For Fabio, Tim loves the print and said to be careful of the proportions of the jacket. Elena said that Fabio has been creating what the judges want to see and not putting himself into his designs. Tim tells Gunnar to be aware of not overdesigning. Tim asked Elena what she would say to the judges if they tell her they have seen this look before, which is so true. That damn huge shoulder dress! For Buffi, he questions her doing a skirt with the top that is supposed to be the star player. He tells Christopher he needs to toughen his look up a little. He seems to be a drama queen and is so worried about being in the bottom again. Tim tells Nathan that his design looks sad. He told Alicia to watch her proportions. Tim tells Raul to nail down an idea soon, which Raul said his problem is time management.

 

The designers continue to work and then the models come in for a fitting. Fabio is like the dress, but it is way too short. It is a business girl, not a working girl! Sonjia is worried about beating Dmitry for this challenge, but she thinks her versatility will win out in this challenge. Melissa is worried about getting everything done because she is working on four different pieces for her look. Buffi is worried because her dress is not coming together and she wants to break down and cry. The day is ending and Melissa is freaking about getting her look done.

 

The next morning arrives and it is runway day. Buffi is feeling anxious about her design and needs to pull it together. They all head to the workroom and Christopher offers his black chiffon to make her top instead of using the pink. Buffi is bitching about it in the sewing room, which Christopher overhears. He confronts her on it, but she thanks him for making her defend her look. She said it would not be a Buffi look without the pink, so get it girl.

 

The models come in and Raul's pants are four inches short and he still has to make a jacket! He may not be making the most of this opportunity, but we shall see when they hit the runway. Dmitry feels Christopher is his competition and has done a great job. Buffi is not working as well as she thinks she normally does. To make up for the difference, Raul added leather angles onto the pants. Buffi's skirt didn't come out like she wanted it to, but she is happy with her design. Raul just flung some accessories at his model before they headed to the runway. It could hurt him!

 

Time for the show, as Heidi Klum heads onto the runway to get things started. The judges this week will be Heidi, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia and guest judges are actress Hayden Panettiere and designer Rachel Roy. My favorites: Sonjia (loved the look and style of the dress), Alicia (loved the cut and a cute look), Gunnar (I loved the skirt), Dmitry (loved the dress) and Christopher (loved the dress and coat together) My least favorites: Melissa (I think it had too much going on for one look), Buffi (the pink and leopard is not working for me), Nathan (hate the color and looks like a cape in the back), Raul (what the hell did you put your model in?) and Elena (that coat is so overpowering).

 

Runway show is done and Heidi asks the following designers to step forward: Gunnar, Ven, Nathan, Alicia, Melissa and Elena. They are all safe until next week. The highest and lowest scores this week are: Buffi, Christopher, Fabio, Sonjia, Raul and Dmitry. For Sonjia, Heidi said she loves her dress and it is stunning. Michael said he loves she didn't do it in black. Nina said it is conservative, yet sexy. Hayden said it is one of her favorites. For Fabio, Michael said he keeps waiting to see what he is presenting in himself to come out in his design. Nina said she can see where it may be comfortable, but not glamorous. For Christopher, Heidi said she loves it and can't believe he made the whole look for $150. Hayden said she loves the dress and the jacket looks killer. Rachel said he succeeded in the day-to-night look. Michael said he thinks he nailed it. For Buffi, Heidi said it looks really inexpensive and doesn't work for her at all. Rachel said when you rely entirely on the belt, than you need to change it. Michael said the whole thing is just weird and the hem is cuckoo too. For Raul, Michael said he hated it when it first came out and he just saved it by unbolting it. Hayden said the crotch looks scrunchy and she could never wear this. Nina said the proportion of the jacket is just too long. For Dmitry, Michael said that dress in a bright color would be amazing. Heidi said she liked the dress, but it needs more sex appeal. Nina said it is perfect and she really likes it. Rachel said it is safe, but also beautiful and exquisite.

 

The judges discuss and we still know nothing of what they are going to decide on. I am saying it is going to be Christopher to win this week and Buffi will be going home. Do you agree with me? The designers come back out on the runway and Christopher is safe. Sonjia is the winner this week and Hayden asked if she could wear her dress to a red carpet event! How exciting for Sonjia. Dmitry and Raul are safe, so we are down to just Buffi and Fabio. Buffi is out, so Fabio is safe for another week.
